168/3.4/HYP undergrad

Post by ehxhfl » Sun Apr 14, 2019 11:28 am

Hi I am planning to apply this fall/winter and was wondering if I should retake the LSAT

I got a 153 on my first test (was sick on the day of the exam but still wanted to see my score) and got a 168 on my second one, which is within the range of scores in my PTs. (167-173)

I have a low GPA from HYP of 3.4 (majoring in social sciences related field), and after graduation, I have been working at a boutique consulting company for 2 years.

My top choices are be NYU, Columbia, and Penn. Assuming that my personal statement and recommendations are solid (fingers crossed) should I try to take the LSAT one more time?

You should def retake, you won't get into those schools with those numbers, regardless of HYP.

Seconded.

A 169 or 170 is probably sufficient to get you into UVA or UM - maybe w/ $ - if you don't mind slumming it at a state school. https://mylsn.info/gvxdhr/#

You'll probably need to be north of a 172 to make Penn or NYU work.
