3.68/169 chances--what do y'all think?

Post by cambridgemamyers » Sat Dec 08, 2018 4:33 pm

First LSAT score came back. Applications are all together. Was hoping for 172 or above (~PT average), but alas.

Went to a top public university, got the 3.68. Worked a bit, got an MA from a top private university (with a 3.9, though I know this hardly matters at all). Should have really good essays and recs.

Yale, Stanford and Harvard are off the table.

Fighting chance at NYU, Columbia, Penn?

Solid chances at Georgetown, UCLA, Berkeley, Michigan, USC?

Your chances get decent-ish from NYU on down. If you can push that score up even a point or two, you'll be in a much better position.

NYU is the dream school. I see that a 170 makes a big difference on MyLSN. Is that optics, or because of their median, or because each LSAT point is valued that much? Would you and people recommend a retake?

It's all of the above. And if NYU is your target, yes, I would recommend a retake.
