ED to UVA
Hi everyone, I am pretty set on applying early decision to UVA and just want to hear what a couple people think of my chances. I have a 3.95 GPA and a 168 LSAT (second try, first time I got a 165). I also worked for two years at a law firm. I have heard that EDing to UVA helps especially with being a reverse splitter (I know I am not completely one but even still). Thanks so much and let me know!

If you don't retake the LSAT, you'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon-- and for the rest of your life.
If you got a 173, you'd be a lock for the Dillard scholarship (full tuition). That means that even if it took you 2 months for every point you improved, you'd still be making above 10,000 a month in scholarship money-- FOR STUDYING!

Re: ED to UVA
OMG I see myself from fall of 2012 -- I had a 4.05, 167, got 60k (which was almost a half ride back then). I did alright (3.5ish), have okay debt, worked two years at a big firm + clerkship -- all things considered, I turned out fine.
BUT, not a day goes by where I don't ask what would have happened if I had retaken and gotten a 172+ -- in law school it was all about ("I could've gone to HLS"). These days, I groan and think about it on the 15th of each month when I pay my loan servicer.
DEBT sucks. It's no fun having a lower net worth than your friends with BA's who've dicked around for 5 years. If anything, keep retaking until you get that 173 even if it means waiting tables at a pizza shop for a year -- you're young so you'll have fun anyways.
Law school can wait. RETAKE.

And since we're talking scholarships. RUBY. It's the best outcome, and it's not impossible for you ... i'd salivate over it.

Re: ED to UVA
You're not even a good candidate for ED UVA, because you're probably an RD admit with some scholarship. Don't do it.
