Cornell

Post by girlygirl9 » Mon Mar 19, 2018 9:41 pm

Cornell is my top choice. I have a 3.4 gpa. Softs include Americorp, study abroad, tons of volunteer work, scholarships, deans list etc

Realistically what should be the bare minimum i shoot for on the LSAT?

Please don’t tell me as high as you can - I’m looking for a straightforward answer. Also, I’m an AA female

Normally you’d have to hit 168 to be viable, 170 to be strong. As an AA female, you’re in with a 162.

I don't know, this might usually be true but this year I've notice a super high threshold in terms of strictly numbers. If you're applying this cycle, it might not matter what your LSAT score is because your gpa is too low (mine is about the same, not trying to be rude.) If you're applying next cycle, apply way early (September/October) you have more wiggle room as far as LSAT score and could probably work it with a high 160's. If you were absolutely gunning for this cycle I really don't think anything short of a 178+ could get you in, just because it's late in the cycle.

I'm not sure about Cornell, but my friend (an AA female), got into Harvard with a 160. I'm pretty sure her gpa was higher than yours, in the 3.8+ range though.

You can answer all of these questions for yourself by looking at the graphs on this website:
