AA Male 3.1 GPA 159 LSAT. Vanderbilt Chances?
Wondering how likely I am to be accepted by Vanderbilt since its probably my only chance of getting into a highly ranked school according to mylsn.info.

I got into Vandy with a 148,but my GPA was higher -- 3.8. Your LSAT is way higher than mine, so I would think you have a shot. I am also an AA male.

Also apply to the lower T14. I got into Georgetown and Northwestern because I had a lot of work experience. I also got into GW with money and Howard with good money. Rejected from everywhere else though.

For some reason, I didn't get a notification that you replied. I'm sorry about that.jmjohn26 wrote:Was your work experience post undergrad? And whats a lot of work experience? I did the ultimate work experience in law school admission circles: three years of Teach for America.

What do you mean? It's not "ultimate" to teach (as it is becoming more and more challenging in our education system), but law school admissions tend to look favorably on it. Of course, there are better jobs, but three years of teaching in a challenging environment in cities that are likely not desirable with under-performing students is an admirable thing.Rigo wrote:Is this sarcasm?jacketyellow wrote: I did the ultimate work experience in law school admission circles: three years of Teach for America.

Its admirable, but TFA doesn't get you a bump anymore. A large portion, over 10% of my t13 class is TFA. You will get no bump for TFA.jacketyellow wrote:What do you mean? I mean good for you, but being so sure-footed on your pedestal with "ultimate" was so lulzy I thought might be sarcasm.
