3.72, 172 (2nd attempt), Good softs. Harvard?

Post by letmelearnlaws » Mon Oct 16, 2017 9:34 pm

I'm a senior at a top 40 liberal arts school majoring in Poli Sci and Philosophy, 3.72 GPA and scored 172 on the September LSAT (scored a 162 in June). I was also president of my fraternity, speak Spanish, and I've had several serious law-oriented internships (one for a human rights law group and one for a Senator, which is currently ongoing). I imagine that portfolio gives me a good shot at many T14 schools. Is it ridiculous for me to consider shooting for Harvard/Yale/Stanford? My top choice (other than those obv) is UVA, and 2 of my LORs came from UVA Law grads. How am I looking? HELP :D

It's not ridiculous to apply. You're unlikely to get into any of those three, but it doesn't hurt to submit applications.

I'd say you're in good shape for every T14 except HYS.

You should certainly apply to H. For Harvard, you're only below median on your GPA by four hundredths of a point. And you're almost at median LSAT score for H. I would throw an app to H. Can't hurt.

Median GPA is 3.86, OP is below the 25th by .04
I stand corrected. But, I still would chance it and submit an app to H.
