3.55/160

Post by PHern8143 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 11:20 pm

I'm a URM with strong softs... my reach schools are HLS, penn, CLS, Duke, UCLA, and Michigan... I'm also shooting for Vandy, GW, Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame. I've got into SLU and Suffolk with big $$$

Chances on the reach schools?

You will not get into your reach schools with the possible exception of UCLA. Improve by five or six points and you'll have a fighting chance almost everywhere, maybe not HLS though.

Have to either be content with failing to get t14 or you have to retake (my decision would be the latter).

I'm URM (AA female) with similar-ish stats (162/3.6) and I'm in at Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, USC, Cornell, and waitlisted at UCLA. My advice would be not to sell yourself short. URM cycles are unpredictable, mine definitely has been, so you may get some acceptances you might not expect! Good luck!

Make sure you're not just applying down the USNWR list. Your school choices outside of the T14 are all over the map, which makes me think that you haven't thought about what region you want to practice in. Make sure you know where a school can realistically place you. A degree from Suffolk places you in MA; a degree from SLU places you in St. Louis, etc.
