156/3.91...held at Penn

applied ED to Penn with 3.91/156 and got held for additional review.

Any chance of acceptance? why would i be held and not immediately dinged w my LSAT?

The fact that you were not an auto-reject is a minor miracle. Are you a URM or do you have some insane soft that you declined to mention?

im a first generation college student. from what ive read, that isnt a crazy soft.

Then I have no idea. It might be the default move for anyone not accepted in the ED round.

Or they love your GPA and are keeping you around just in case they need more high GPA's late in the cycle once they get a feel for how their class is shaping up. They can pair you with a splitter and charge you both sticker.

I had a friend with similar stats get in in late summer last year. You'll pay sticker if you do.

To be honest, I would consider it a blessing that you didn't get in. Very few people should pay sticker for Penn.

I'm not shocked -- Penn LOVES high GPAs. My ex was held, admitted, and goes there, and he has very similar numbers. He is paying sticker, though.
