3.61/168...money?

Post by granger » Wed Jan 20, 2010 12:11 am

Hey all. I'm a second semester junior at a good public school. I'm re-taking in Feb. and am confident I can break 170, but I'm wondering what my chances are right now. I'm willing to pay sticker at a good school, but I want to know if you guys think I'll have a shot at money at any of these schools:

BU
BC
Fordham
Notre Dame
Minnesota
UIUC
USC
GW

I know I don't have overwhelming numbers for these schools, but I'm wondering if they give out money to applicants at or a little above their 75th percentile for LSAT, or if my GPA is standing in the way. Ideally, I'd make T14 with an improved LSAT, but I'm wondering right now how I'd fare with scholarship chances at the kind of schools I'm targeting. Thanks for any help!

T8(UPenn) - T17(Vanderbilt) little money

T18(USC) - T30(W&L) serious money/full rides

Awesome, thanks!

Anybody have any experiences with similar stats to share?

I have a 169/3.6ish and applied to a few of those schools this semester but have yet to hear too much about scholarships. Given previous LSN cycles I would say there's a good shot at money from virtually all of those schools (at least I'm hoping that some comes my way). I know that Fordham doesn't have a whole lot of money to give out so I wouldn't expect much there though.

My guess is that you can make it into Cornell right now if you were to apply early, but that's probably it T14 wise. Nothing is a guarantee, but a 169 with a 3.6ish GPA seems to make a world of difference compared to a 168 with a 3.6ish. With a 169, I managed to get into Cornell and Michigan this cycle. I HIGHLY doubt a 168 gets me into Michigan. If you want any further details about my cycle/cycles (yes I'm a reapplicant) just PM me. Good luck!

Wow- congrats on your cycle so far, and thanks for the help. When I took the Dec. test, I knew I underperformed a bit, but I was hoping for a 169, because I wasted so much time on LSN and the predictive sites that I knew that's what I needed. I'm retaking next month, but either way, scholarship offers look like they'll be a decisive factor for me.

you'll get money at w&m, w&l, notre dame, probably gw (though you might have to wait till june), and probably fordham.

Congrats on the offer, though I'm not sure we're that similar of candidates -- I'm sure they love the 169 for their LSAT median, and so it had a big impact on the offer.

Ohhh, wow. First one I've found outside of LSN. Are you applying this cycle? GL to you too!
