We could argue about tiers all day long, but it's a waste of time.

In no particular order within the tiers:

Tier I

Ole Miss
USC (South Carolina, that is)
UGA
Bama

Tier II

LSU
UT (Tennessee)
UNC
Samford
Mercer
Loyola-New Orleans
W&L

Tier III

FSU
Tulane
Wake
UVA
SMU
Arkansas
UF
Texas
Memphis
Campbell
This is pretty accurate, I'd probably take SC out of Tier I for Tier II. I don't know about LSU being Tier 2, lots of corndog loving wierdos, although Baton Rouge is a pretty decent city. I'd take UF out of Tier III too (Jort capital of the world), maybe throw in Kentucky and Charleston into Tier 3.

Agreed about Wofford. Furman is frat too.

And whoever brought up frat vs. bro, what the hell are you talking about?
Stupid as this is I am throwing in my two cents on big schools (best as I can tell). This is pretty general, take it as you will. I left out anything not worth really mentioning:

Tier I: Ole Miss, Bama, UGA, LSU (not really sure)
Tier II: Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, Texas
Tier III: UNC, Tennesee, UVA, W&L, Wofford
Tier IV: SMU, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma, FSU
LSU has moved into Tier I, and it is dumping a ton of money into keep that

As for the "fratty" schools, a similar thread has also started:

Neither does Auburn

Ugh I didnt know what Vera Bradley was until I read this thread. Went on the website and had my eyes assaulted by the horrific patterns. I don't think I'll be able to take anyone seriously who wears that stuff, then again maybe its cause my wardrobe consists of blacks, grays, and navys.

You mean carry? I don't know about Vera Bradley or whatnot because I'm a guy, but I thought it was just handbags and purses, etc. I guess I may be in the dark on this stuff, but most girls on my campus are sporting these bags or sorority/Vineyard Vines bags.

Well you could wear those little Vera Bradley backpacks I guess. Some of my friends take those to tailgates or whatever - hands free for drinking.

If it's preppy, then the women are wearing:
http://www.lillypulitzer.com/

and...
--LinkRemoved--

all can be found rampantly in NC...

But this isn't a Southern issue, this is a frat issue and male/female issue. We should be asking where are they playing softball (UVA: 58.8% male 41.2% female) and waxing poetic about long-lost frat brothers off at B-school (Georgetown 56% male or Texas 57% male).

All numbers from LSAC/ABA LS Data (LSAC website).

Fratty people are such douchebags; they are visually repelling.

UF fits the bill. Greeks all over place, and while the school and town are more liberal than conservative, there is tons of south Florida money running around there.

UT-Austin is your place without a doubt. I can't buy a cup of coffee without running into 10 of these guys. You forgot to mention hologram sunglasses with a strap connected to it, fishing shirts, nice comb-overs and for some reason Styrofoam cups are big this year. If that is your crowd then you will love UT...but personally I am ready to get away from these types of people, they dress like my 50 year old dad haha but to each his own.

I'm sorry, I don't think you understand it. Ask ANY other SEC school, Florida is the anti-frat. And South Florida money is exactly why.

And while Duke seems like it would fit the bill, it doesn't. Too many NY/NJ kids and Durham is nasty.

Agreed about UT-Austin though.

South Florida is not frat. South Florida is probably the least fratty location outside of NY/NJ.

Really? UF is not frat? I didn't do anything Greek so I don't claim any real knowledge. I felt like I was swimming in Greek the whole time I was there. Suffice to say, I am glad I didn't go anywhere else in the SEC.

This is not the definition of frat that I abide by.... So confused where you got this from.

I'm a northern girl, and I had to google Vera Bradley. I am sooo not cut out for a southern school, those bags are effin hideous.

1. Don't have to be in a frat to be a bro. Being in a frat does not make you a bro. An unusually high percentage of bros are in frats due to the fact that the frat lifestyle is conducive to bro'ing.

2. Being a bro is not about what you wear. Most bro's naturally wear brolo due to its stylishness and comfort. Wannabees equate clothing with brohood because it the only way they can pretend to be bro's.

3. Bro's usually don't really give f*ck about anything. However, they are generally smart and can get good grades, plagued by the itis, prone to crushing brews, slaying sorority chicks(whether in a frat or not), possessing a general unexplained swagger.

4. Fratstars are bro's
edit. fratstars go on month long benders, drink, smoke, and bang more girls than the everyone. Yet they seem content doing these things without advertising them to the world via douchey clothing etc.

It's not a requirement to live in the south, promise ;) Speaking from nearly 23 years of experience... Most girls just use them as luggage. It's kind of um "dorky" to carry as a purse, for lack of a better word.

Longchamp bags are WAY more popular. HATE THEM. I can think of a better way to spend $125 and it isn't on 2 leather handles attached to a nylon sack.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
