Has anyone else not heard back from either? Are they obligated to send a rejection letter?
They said it should take 8-12 weeks to render a decision, and I'm on week 11.
Also, anyone know if these are schools are known for late decisions?

Is it just the volume of the applications that's taking so long? Do schools let you know by week 12 like they say?UM2014 wrote:Yes to all

They have comparatively late application deadlines, especially WUSTL, and they like to hold large portions of the application pool for comparison against others. Many schools do that but Vanderbilt's instructions / information on the status checker emphasizes the comparison more than others, for whatever that's worth. WUSTL tells people that they have an application process which is rolling and in which they continue making decisions all the way up until basically when classes start. I have seen people who Vandy has pushed out longer than 12 weeks just based upon people's self-reported timeframes on LSN but those should always be taken with a grain of salt. People have reported / posted about decisions from Vandy in the last week or so though, so hang in there. There are others in that boat with you.
