Cool, thanks for the reply. $400/mo isn't bad at all, esp compared to Boston or NYC, where most people pay about $1000. Oh yeah it's so much cheaper here...I used to pay over $1000 a month in Chicago for one bedroom apartments that were kinda shitty (first one in boystown) and ok (moved farther north almost out of the city). Here, I live by myself in a huge, renovated 2bed and rent is under $1000 and my drive to school is less than ten minutes.jstanhope14 wrote:Cool, thanks for the reply. $400/mo isn't bad at all, esp compared to Boston or NYC, where most people pay about $1000. How were you dinged? Your LSAT is score is over the 75 percentile and you had a better LSAT than alot of the people who were accepted? GPA? Fitness issue?

I'm looking at LSN and 161 plus scorers for the most part got accepted? Where did you get this information?
bella26 wrote:First time posting. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! Illinois is my top choice, but I am taking the 2/10 lsat and will not be applying until I receive my score. After looking at my law school numbers, I am surprised at the lower scholarship amounts compared to the last few years for above median lsat scores. Further, I'm surprised to see 161+ scores being waitlisted/rejected.

I apologize if I gave the impression that many 161+ score were being waitlisted or rejected. I meant only that I was surprised to see any such applicants being waitlisted or outright rejected. Looking at past data, particularly the last year, I think many of the applicants below would have been accepted with substantial scholarship:
164/3.39; 167/2.91; 162/2.79; 167/2.22; 160/3.77; 157/3.99
Admittedly, I know very little about these applicants outside of their lsat/gpa, but UIUC has typically been splitter friendly. That is probably still the case, just surprised by the above decisions.

If it affects anything, I got in as a splitter (2.9, 168) with a 110+ plus scholarship, so it may be a little more subjective than just splitter friendly or splitter un-friendly. Good luck to everyone!bella26 wrote:darthrevan92 wrote:I'm looking at LSN and 161 plus scorers for the most part got accepted? Where did you get this information?

Just confirmed on the website. I actually had not noticed that change so thanks for pointing that out!

I was dinged through email, my GPA is on my profile, and the fact that I'm in at better-ranked schools just goes to show the competitiveness of the cycle and unpredictability of non-AA URMs cycles (I'm PR).

Re: University of Illinois C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
Just curious, does anyone know what the largest scholarship they offer is? I am a 165/3.8 candidate with full tuition scholarships to multiple t20/t30 schools, but I am from Illinois and would love to end up at UIUC, especially with their employment statistics that are better than many of the higher ranked schools I have offers from. Their 509 says four percent of students receive more than full tuition, so they do offer more than full tuition, but I was wondering how much more than full tuition they offer. Their website has their fees listed at $4,139 per year, which is a pretty significant amount for just fees. I applied in early January and have not heard back yet, but a full ride plus fees or even a little more than fees would probably put UIUC as my top choice, so I was wondering if anyone has experience with scholarships >full tuition or experience negotiating scholarships this large. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

For those of us who didn't get caught in the 1st wave, any idea how long we'll be playing the waiting game?

Any idea on when the next round of decisions will come out? Looking at LSN it seems a little unclear.

It looks like last year, the first wave was on the 17th of January, but the second wave didn’t come until the 9th of February, and then the third one on the 24th of February.AMax1 wrote:Any idea on when the next round of decisions will come out? Looking at LSN it seems a little unclear.

I went to UIUC for undergrad and I think their "fees" include the health insurance, so you might be able to opt out of a large amount of thatmmart207 wrote:But damn most of these schools' fees are like 500-1000.
