Wisconsin Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

Post by aet2142 » Fri Dec 01, 2017 3:35 am

Starting this discussion thread for entering fall 2018 (Class of 2021) applicants to the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Wisconsin received a rank of 30 in the 2018 Best Law Schools ranking by U.S. News & World Report. Admission statistics for the law school can be found here: https://law.wisc.edu/prospective/stats.html

I applied in early September and was admitted yesterday, November 30, with 3.4 GPA and 162 LSAT. I am an international applicant from Asia and graduated from an Ivy League university.

Just got the acceptance email. Looks like early 2018 movement. I attend UW for undergrad so if anyone has any questions about Madison, I'd be happy to answer.

Does Wisco do CRS waivers or should I just pay the $60? I don't want to submit now when I could have saved the $60 if I waited a day or two.

Not sure. Maybe call the Admissions Office and ask if they provide waivers?

I went in review 12/1. GPA in between 50-75th percentile. LSAT at 25th. Out-of-state. When should I be expecting an answer?

Submitted my application on 11/19, went complete on 12/16, and just got my acceptance e-mail this morning(1/5 for me, 1/4 for most mainlanders)!

Good luck to everyone else!

Got a "scholarship application" email this morning and freaked out, but then got the acceptance this afternoon. Assuming I get that week off of work I'll be at the admitted students weekend.

Accepted this morning. Went into review 1/5, submitted 12/22. 164 LSAT, 3.6 GPA but a few years of work experience and an MPA. No word on $$$ yet. I'll most likely be at the admitted students day as well.

I got the scholly email today 2 days after acceptance, so the wait shouldn't be too long.

Good to know, thanks! Was the scholarship about what you were expecting?

A little lower than I was expecting/hoping, but pretty comparable with my offer from Georgia (in state rate+some extra). COL in Madison will probably be higher though.

Hey peeps! Congrats to all of you who have been admitted, I'm extra jealous!!! Would one of you lovely humans be willing to share when the first and second seat deposits are due? I was wait-listed on Friday and I'm just trying to discern when I could maaaaaybe expect some movement come spring. Thanks in advance and congratulations again!!!!!

It's $500 April 1st and $250 June 1st. The first deposit is refundable through April 30th.
There's a form that I found once while snooping around online where one can declare their intentions before submitting the April 1st deposit. There is a selection for "Uncertain" as to whether or not one will attend. The form stated that those who selected uncertain would have a seat in the class held until May 1st.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Apply to transfer, but not sure whether should go. The students from China please add my wechat at 15772655 (marks madison), and probably we can share the housing if decided to go.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
