I was deciding between a school of similar stature to LLS, and for me the deciding factor was that the bar passage and employment rate at LLS was higher than the other school. As far as what stands out, LLS has a huge alumni network, being the largest law school in CA. There are a lot of interesting student organizations, especially public interest ones. There are lots of interesting panels, where attorneys come to campus. The Loyola innocence project does really important work, idk what other schools have something like that.SDAW2012 wrote:Is there anything that stands out about Loyola compared to other SoCal law schools?NewUser_2017 wrote:Hi everyone, I am currently a student at Loyola LS, willing to answer some questions if anyone has any.
I'm primarily trying to differentiate between San Diego and Loyola. It is hard to do considering placement rates and cost of loving (after scholarships) are almost identical. It seems like it comes down to whether a person wants to practice in SD or LA, but I have no preference. I think I understand the pros and cons of living in each city and it comes out to a push for me.
One thing I am curious about is the culture of the student bodies. It seems like Loyola is a little bit more diverse (demographically and ideologically) and San Diego has a bigger religious/right presence. But I could be totally off-base on that.
Thanks for your time!
The student body is definitely very diverse, as far as students' background. Not sure about ideology, it seems the majority are liberal, this being L.A. I'm not religious, and the school is not obnoxious about its Catholic-ness.
