App Submission Timeline

Post by mvarkey » Fri Nov 10, 2017 5:05 pm

Hey guys!

Just wondering...

I read on a few websites that by 12/1 less than 5% of the total apps for the year are submitted.

1) Is this true?
2) Does this mean if we submitted apps in early November we will hear back sooner than the 3-4 week time frame typically suggested?

Thanks!

My guess is no. Totally anecdotal here, but I put in all my applications in early October and have had radio silence from my top schools. A couple of my safeties have gotten back to me, but that's it. Timelines are a crapshoot, I don't think there's any way to accurately predict them:/

Same. I applied early/mid-october. I heard back from one safety and one solid one within 3 weeks. I was denied a reach school after 6 (but they had a guarantee). Everything else has been random. I'm pretty sure it's all random. I'm a decent (slightly above average) candidate and URM. So I'm assuming my experience is probably pretty typical.
