Re: Emory c/o 2021 Applicants
Did anybody else just get a Happy Holidays email from "Emory Law Admission"? I had to do a double-take at the preview in my phone's notifications. An s on the end of that would have prevented that half second of false excitement.

Has anyone else received an email inviting them to apply for the Woodruff? I got one today from the Dean of Admissions and I was wondering if it means anything/if it is just a mass email.

I haven't gotten one so maybe it does mean something!ocw96 wrote:Has anyone else received an email inviting them to apply for the Woodruff? I got one today from the Dean of Admissions and I was wondering if it means anything/if it is just a mass email.

I received one a while ago, and I did actually wind up applying. I do think it means something! They think you're a good candidate and that you'd be a strong contender for Woodruff. I'd also assume you have a pretty strong (if not virtually guaranteed) chance of admission, considering Woodruff is specifically for their top students.ocw96 wrote:Has anyone else received an email inviting them to apply for the Woodruff? The recruitment team is stealthy. I got a letter from a partner at the firm I work at in a different office who is an Emory alum encouraging me to apply. Don't even know how they got all that info. Hoping all that effort means a likely acceptance and not just to boost their application numbers

Got an email from Emory FinAid but then
Please note, this communication in no way implies admission or eligibility for financial aid.

It’s because decisions won’t start to come out until later this month (according to previous years’ threads).usersomethingname wrote:Any updates? This feed is dead compared to other schools..

First RD acceptances the past 2 years have been Monday, January 16 and and Monday, January 18, so would Monday the 15th be a good guess? Starting to get super anxious here. Emory is my top choice, and I really want to hear from them soon!

Just got an e-mail reminding me to apply for the Woodruff Fellowship. Taking it as a good sign!

Per their website: The committee begins making decisions in February. Decision letters are mailed out as they are made. We do not give decisions over the phone. Most students will receive their decision prior to April 1.legallyblonde2021 wrote:First RD acceptances the past 2 years have been Monday, January 16 and and Monday, January 18, so would Monday the 15th be a good guess? Hopefully it ends up being earlier though!

Received the same email.... my LSAT is at the 25% and UGPA is below the 25%.... Noted in the email was my interest when I submitted my application.seanbodonovan wrote:Just got an e-mail reminding me to apply for the Woodruff Fellowship. Taking it as a good sign!

[Current 1L here] RD acceptances will probably start coming out in the next couple of weeks - last year, I applied in the first week of january, and got in around the 23rd or 24th. That being said, do NOT worry if you don't get an acceptance right away! There are people in my class who didn't hear back until the Spring, and they still got accepted with merit scholarships.

Yeah, I don't exactly have the stats that I would expect to place me in consideration... They're probably just trying to increase the number of applicants to make the scholarship appear more competitive...

That is what I think - last I checked, only 3-4 folks are selected per year.seanbodonovan wrote:manchesterengland wrote:Same email received here!KPUSN07 wrote:Received the same email.... my LSAT is at the 25% and UGPA is below the 25%.... Friendly reminder that you can sign up for FedEx and USPS delivery notifications as we await the first wave of decisions! (I learned this from stalking last year's thread )

Re: Emory c/o 2021 Applicants
I'm an undergrad at Emory and live at the university-owned apartments and I wonder if they send my decision and the decisions of other current students through the mail or if they just send it to student mail directly lol. I'd prefer that since it would be quicker but I doubt they pluck us out of the big pile.

I believe decisions are sent via snail mail from what I've read on TLS forums from past years.tony_dirko wrote:Does Emory only notify via snailmail?ocw96 wrote:Friendly reminder that you can sign up for FedEx and USPS delivery notifications as we await the first wave of decisions!
