1L at UF. I heard through the grapevine today that UF is cutting their class size by a third this year. Typically enrolls around ~300 students, supposedly only enrolling ~210 this year.

I decided just to send them an updated transcript, resume, and an extra letter of recommendation. Hopefully that puts me over the edge and illustrates how seriously I want it. I've been on hold for a while so I'm banking on the fact that that isn't a denial or waitlist yet.

A lot of other people confirmed this as well, though they some said the class size would be around 240, so who knows for sure

Re: UF Law C/O 2021 Applicants
People are starting to post their rejections from UF on LSN. I wonder what this means for those of us who have been on hold for 5+ months? My guess is really good news or really bad news, though I've always been told that no news is good news...

Re: UF Law C/O 2021 Applicants
I am VERY confused. I called admissions on Friday to ask about a tentative timeline for holds. The person told me letters would be going out "mid-next week" (aka Wednesday of this week 4/11). I checked LSN that night, and it looked like people received rejection letters on Friday. So I'm confused as to why I was told they would begin sending letters this Wednesday...
AS mentioned above, it seems like there was a reject wave Friday and a WL wave yesterday. The numbers seem pretty scattered all over the place -- some people with 157s getting rejected while some with 154s being placed on the waitlist. This makes it hard to predict what they're doing, especially for those of us still on hold. I'm sitting here hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

I just looked on LSN again and a person with a 160 and 3.65 got the WL, but people with 156's and 157's AND lower GPA's getting accepted. I'm right there with you: CONFUSED.Gsd10 wrote:I am VERY confused. I called admissions on Friday to ask about a tentative timeline for holds. Still under review for me. No idea if that's a good or bad thing. Getting more antsy.

Yeah this is super weird. I saw a 150/3.4 got in with some scholarship. I guess that gives me some hope though...kmac1243 wrote:I just looked on LSN again and a person with a 160 and 3.65 got the WL, but people with 156's and 157's AND lower GPA's getting accepted. Re: UF Law C/O 2021 Applicants
So apparently people on Reddit have been getting official waitlist notifications, as have the people above. Does anyone know if it is better to be on the WL or the hold list? I'm worried that hold this late in the cycle is a sign for rejection; especially considering the first seat deposit is due next Friday and they are already compiling a waitlist.

Ugh. At this point I’m just hoping to hear something by next Friday. Still under review :/Gsd10 wrote:So apparently people on Reddit have been getting official waitlist notifications, as have the people above. Sent an email asking status and got this-
"... The status of no final decision made is a normal part of our comparative review process with decisions being made on an ongoing basis. This may take from a few weeks to a few months, as applicants may be notified up until August..."

Re: UF Law C/O 2021 Applicants
I went on a tour recently. I'm still under review and they told me it could be a couple of weeks to a couple of months. I hope it isn't that long, because I applied before priority deadline and have a seat deposit due in a few days :/tigerhill123 wrote:Sent an email asking status and got this-

Re: UF Law C/O 2021 Applicants
That's where I'm confused. I wonder if that means our files are all looked at comparatively when they make new decisions for A/WL/R. So the "no decisions" are one's that are still being considered for admittance whereas those that are currently WL or rejected are no longer considered. (i.e. its better to be on hold than WL)? This is totally a guess, because I know you can go from hold to rejection... I don't understand this system at all and I wonder what stack they'll pull from to fill any open seats post-deposit.tigerhill123 wrote:Sent an email asking status and got this-
