I don't think it's likely either. I submitted and went complete on October 17th and am not even in review yet. September applicants have a good shot, but I wouldn't count on anything this week if you submitted in October.VDubbs wrote:I feel like they're behind this year... especially since a lot of people are not in review yet (or haven't received the in review email).CADM1UM wrote:What do you think the chances are that a wave of decisions goes out tomorrow for October submissions? Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if the September apps get their decisions next week and then October maybe the week of Thanksgiving.dylanca wrote:I don't think it's likely either. Checking in! Really like Boston and would seriously consider BC with a full ride (if that's a thing)

Status checker went from received to blank--has that happened to anyone else? Trying to be optimistic and hope that I'll somehow get lumped in with first wave acceptances haha

I had this happen, emailed and they released the hold no fuss.hamshotfirst wrote:I emailed them before I registered for the December test and they made it sound like, unless you specifically request them not to, they hold your application if you're registered for another test. Given that I emailed them before I registered, I'm not sure if they actively look when evaluating though. But they did specifically say that they needed some kind of confirmation that you didn't want them to hold your app. I would email them just to be on the safe side, since you did say you're above both 75ths.littlewing67 wrote:Does anyone know if they will hold my application since I signed up for the Dec. test or will they will evaluate it with my current score?

I talked to one of the admissions people today at an LSAC forum and asked when I might expect to hear back. Once he heard I went complete on 10/16, he said that they'll probably have a decision by Christmas at the latest. I got the impression that he was just saying "it's not going to be tomorrow" but I also think that October apps will probably not be getting decisions until December.
Of course, I could be completely wrong about that and they just go into overdrive next week!

Checking in. BC is definitely on my list. Just wondering, if they waived my application fee automatically, is that a good sign? I did not put in a fee waiver request form.

Traditionally they've been about even with a SLIGHT edge to BU, but from their ABA stats BC has been making strides to close the gap and I think last year they even did better if you take biglaw + FC together.barcafan202 wrote:Checking in. From the looks of it BC is a better feeder into Boston biglaw than BU? Or are they about even
From what I gathered from the admissions reps at the LSAC forum last week, BC's been working to include as many networking events as possible for students, so I feel like that might be a factor. As someone who loves networking it got me excited haha.

Finally got my app in. Getting pretty excited with all the good things I've been reading about BC.
To the poster above, it does look like in the past couple of years they placed better in Boston biglaw (and biglaw in general) compared to BU, but I wonder if the difference is due to the more local focus of the students that attend BC versus those at BU. It looks like BU gets more than a few students interested to practice in NYC, who might take a mid-law job there over a biglaw job in Boston. I think you'd probably have pretty even chances from both schools if you want to stay in Boston.

Chances that the first wave of decisions are released this week?

Checking in! Any other splitter apps here? Im above 75th GPA but below 25th LSAT. Currently a senior in undergrad with a double major. Decent softs: president of the business school, legal experience with internships, tutor for athletes, VP of sorority, ....
Anyone else?

Anyone can correct me If I'm wrong, but I don't think you'd be considered a splitter. A splitter is generally <25thGPA/ >75thLSAT, reverse is reverse splitter.sophcap wrote:Checking in! Yeah I wouldn't consider that a splitter. That's just a below average applicant to be quite honest.

Had the most awkward convo with an associate in the office. I assumed he went to BC Law because of the fancy framed degree in his office. Turns out it was his undergrad and his not so fancy degree from St. Johns is closer to the back. It was still cool though. He apologized for not knowing anyone from BC Law to connect me with.

oh ok! I'm a reverse splitter then. Anyone else in the same boat? And wasn't looking to come on here and be called "below average" considering there's way more to an app than just the LSAT and GPA but call it what you want lol.

Re: Boston College c/o 2021 Applicants (2017 - 2018)
It’s TLS terminology - you’ll see plenty of it here especially since this is a very numbers driven board. Just to be clear, a reverse splitter would be someone who is at or above the 75th% for GPA, but below the 25th% for LSAT. You only indicated that you were above the 25th GPA which just makes us assume you’re below median, hence below-average. That being said, you’re also probably going to find a lot of people pushing for you to retake altogether.sophcap wrote:oh ok! I'm a reverse splitter then. Anyone else in the same boat?
