Boston College c/o 2021 Applicants (2017 - 2018)
Didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I'd start one! BC is certainly one of my top choices, especially with all of the advances they've been making in BL placement.
According to last year's thread decisions started going out in early November, so hope to hear back soon!

It'll be a serious load off my application-cycle stress if I get an acceptance from them soon.

It says on the status checker that we will be notified when our application is under review. Has anyone gotten such notification?

Submitted today! Hadn't heard anything about scholarship timing from this school (there is so much info about T-14s on here and everything else just kind of gets forgotten) anyone have any info/links?

No, though I believe they have a relatively quick turnaround time once you're under review, so I would guess they'll likely start within the next two weeks.ebrook93 wrote:It says on the status checker that we will be notified when our application is under review. According to people from last year's thread, regardless of when you're accepted scholarship info goes out around February. I don't know if they'll do something different for this cycle though.sabraph wrote:Submitted today! Good luck!

Checking in! I love BC, it's the only school outside of the T14 that I applied to.

I'm curious, did anyone write a "why BC" essay?

I didn't but really starting to regret it. I'm above both 75%s so I really don't want to be YP waitlisted or rejected.hamshotfirst wrote:I'm curious, did anyone write a "why BC" essay?

Yea, I'm a splitter so I figured they wouldn't YP me...but I'm also just super paranoid haha. Did you schedule a visit or just show up for a tour? Seeing as I live a few miles away I'm thinking of going over there this weekend.littlewing67 wrote:I did, but I've also visited the school in person! I am also at 75th%s for both GPA + LSAT though.hamshotfirst wrote:I'm curious, did anyone write a "why BC" essay?

They were pretty YP-happy last cycle, but I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that it was the first year they rolled out accelerated applications, so they got a TON of high-numbers right off the bat. I bet you're going to get in!wannabegenius wrote:I didn't but really starting to regret it. Thank you! I'm actually from a town south of Boston so I was hoping that would make it not look completely random. I'm concerned since they made me list all the other schools I applied to and the others are all reaches. But what are accelerated applications? I didn't get invited to apply accelerated or anything, just plain old regular decision. In fact, I haven't received any emails from them except one saying thank you for applying.hamshotfirst wrote:They were pretty YP-happy last cycle, but I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that it was the first year they rolled out accelerated applications, so they got a TON of high-numbers right off the bat. Re: Boston College c/o 2021 Applicants (2017 - 2018)
Last year I believe they introduced an invite-only accelerated application option, where you could get an answer back in like a week after applying. A lot of people thought that was why they YP'd pretty hard last cycle, which is something they don't normally do in the first wave (from what I've read at least).wannabegenius wrote:Thank you! I have no idea if they did it this cycle as well, I applied regular decision as well! Either way, I do believe that first waves will be going out soon!

Re: Boston College c/o 2021 Applicants (2017 - 2018)
I emailed them before I registered for the December test and they made it sound like, unless you specifically request them not to, they hold your application if you're registered for another test. Given that I emailed them before I registered, I'm not sure if they actively look when evaluating though. But they did specifically say that they needed some kind of confirmation that you didn't want them to hold your app. I would email them just to be on the safe side, since you did say you're above both 75ths.littlewing67 wrote:Does anyone know if they will hold my application since I signed up for the Dec. test or will they will evaluate it with my current score?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
