I think it's fair to say that Kenya has won the 2017-2018 cycle.

I saw that once the calls went to 1am, and I know someone mentioned they could go as late as 10pm. Sometimes they'll tweet about whether the calls are over. Any thoughts as to whether they are still going on?

Anyone else hear anything today? And any ideas of when the next wave might be? LSN seems to imply a hiatus until February.

Is this particular wave limited to today/a single day, or is there a possibility it might continue into tomorrow or the rest of the week?

Likely limited to yesterday, though I am perplexed by the fact that between TLS and LSN, only 3 people reported hearing... seems oddly quiet! Maybe the new Dean just admitted fewer people? And/or fewer of the people who actually use the websites actually got in lol?zhyunjc wrote:Is this particular wave limited to today/a single day, or is there a possibility it might continue into tomorrow or the rest of the week?

I’m also surprised by the minimal activity. Seems like it was a tiny wave. Could also be your other theory but I feel like highly competitive applicants (ie those most likely to get in) tend to be active on these websites. I could be very wrong thoughMonicaYoung_LOL wrote:Likely limited to yesterday, though I am perplexed by the fact that between TLS and LSN, only 3 people reported hearing... seems oddly quiet! Right, I definitely agree that highly competitive applicants are on here. Must've just been a tiny wave in that case. I guess last year, only like ~5 people reported on TLS, so it's probably not too significantly diminished.ha8845 wrote:I’m also surprised by the minimal activity. Seems like it was a tiny wave. Re: Yale c/o 2021 Applicants Thread (2017-2018)
If you have letters that were sent directly to YLS (i.e., from a YLS professor), is it acceptable to email admissions to confirm receipt? I've been hesitating about reaching out because I know they discourage checking in and clogging up the admissions email, but I would hate to lose out even a little bit if any of my materials didn't make it in...

I'd email. Seems like a prime better-safe-than situation. Plus, it can't hurt you any. There's enough anxiety in the app process, no need to add to it.solennita wrote:If you have letters that were sent directly to YLS (i.e., from a YLS professor), is it acceptable to email admissions to confirm receipt?
