That's my impression as well. For those applying for both merit AND need, you have to submit your 2017 tax returns, so I think the whole thing rolls out a bit later than some other schools.principalagent wrote:I believe that starts in February?feralflamingo wrote:Has anyone gotten any scholly info at all from Penn?

Re: Penn Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
Hey all,
Checking in with a protocol question.
I applied way back in October, UCR 2 12/5, have heard nothing. 172/3.9, but bit of an unusual case: grad degree, bit older. With my stats and this wait, though, I'm thinking that the admissions office is giving me some side-eye re: yield rate. Either that or I've done something foolish in the app. I didn't write the why Penn, which seems like a mistake at this point. I don't suppose there's anything I might do to convince the committee of my sincerity? I've seen some discussion of sending in why penn essays after the fact, but the consensus seems to be that that would be poor form.
Congrats to those who are in, and good luck to all.

An LOCI at this point would be poor form. An addendum to your app in the form of a Why Penn I think would be fine, but others can/should chime in too, as I'm only a 0L.thirdtimesthecharm wrote:Hey all,

I saw this on their website:Bush v. Gorgeous wrote:That's my impression as well. Scholarship Matching Policy
While Penn Law does not have a matching policy, relevant updates may - on occasion - affect our initial evaluation or trigger a reevaluation. As the Scholarship Committee makes scholarship decisions, they will consider offers from schools with which Penn Law shares a large number of admitted students. Admitted students are encouraged to update the Committee with offers they are considering from peer schools by emailing official award letters to scholarships@law.upenn.edu.
At what point are we supposed to start sending them other offers and stuff? Do we wait to see what they'll offer us/nominate us for first? I already have two full rides from peer schools.

Thank you! The "initial evaluation" bit on the website was what confused me a little.principalagent wrote:Wait.38981928 wrote:At what point are we supposed to start sending them other offers and stuff? Dinged by Penn! First rejection so far.
It sucks, even though I applied very broadly, Penn really was one of the schools I was most interested in.

It's all good. You win some you lose some. I can't complain so far.
Best of luck to everyone who survived this ding wave!

When did people who received decisions today (esp. WLs and dings) go UR2? I wonder if they send those out with a quicker turnaround. I just want to hearrrrr!

I submitted my app 12/27, but it’s still processing. Should I be concerned and email the admission offices? It’s the last app that’s not complete for me. All my other apps are either UR or complete.
