Wait, are you sure you want to ED with those numbers? Seems like your chances for admission + scholarship are quite good for mid to lower T13's, and ED might harm your scholarship chances at Penn. In any case, good luck from a fellow reverse splitter!pumpkinspicedchai wrote:Checking in! New on here. Just finishing my personal statement final draft for ED.

Re: Penn Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
I'm not crazy about the idea of ED, but I don't want to be in Chicago, at Michigan, or at Cornell (mostly personal preference; I'm from GA so crazy cold is not in the cards), so that leaves UVA, Penn, and Duke in the T13. Of the above, I'm convinced Penn will give me the best shot at BigLaw and/or Federal Clerkships. Looking at myLSN, I'd probably get into 2 out of 3 with a little money, but I'd hate to get waitlisted and have to hold out until April to know where I'm going. I'm also engaged, so that puts a ding in UVA because Charlottesville doesn't have much of a job market for my fiancee. ED is my way of keeping the power in my hands. I've come to term with the fact that I won't have much of any scholarship from Penn.chrysippusofsoli wrote:Wait, are you sure you want to ED with those numbers? Applied 10/24 and finally got an application complete email today. Kinda expecting the YP waitlist when the time comes, though

Did people write the "what defines you?" optional essay as their Why Penn?

Checking in.
Does anyone think that an acceptance to Penn would cause Cornell to give 2-3 years of tuition scholarship to keep an applicant from going to Penn??

I kind of interpreted this as a Why Penn essay. Just tweaked it a little.AlPastor wrote:I didjellyjar wrote:Did people write the "what defines you?" optional essay as their Why Penn?

I submitted last night and haven’t had any kind of confirmation or communication.. is that normal?

Did people submit their why penn essays under the "additional info" attachment? Or as an optional essay? I wrote a more traditional why penn as opposed to the "what defines you" prompt, so I'm weary of submitting it as an optional essay and the admissions people thinking "wow he really did not read the prompt."

I'm complete since 10/10. Do you know if do they normally interview every applicant / borderline applicants or no one at all?
