I'm confused: no Twitter announcement? Also isn't this really late in the day to call for then?

I got a voicemail at 4:30 saying I had been admitted under ED. I never got an interview invite. I’m a splitter - but I’m super stoked!

Damn congrats. I guess they're not doing it in a wave like normal? I got no rejection/hold email but also no call.

How late do they do calls? It’s already 5:20 EST so I guess they’re done for today.

I’m borderline, no interview, been UR2 since 1/11. Just waiting for the inevitable rejection now I guess.

Yeah there's no way they only let in so few people through EDII

edit: also if they were doing a big wave of acceptances right now they'd have tweeted

Given the info about them doing interviews next M/T (none for me meh), I'm on board with the belief that the big wave is next Wednesday, plus maybe some more next Friday. For ED at least.

"Thank you for your application to the university of pennsylvania law school. I am writing on behalf of the Admissions Committee to inform you that, regretfully, we are unable to offer you a place in the fall 2018 entering class.

The evaluation process at Penn Law is a thorough and deliberate one and arriving at this decision was undoubtedly difficult. Our Admissions Committee includes admissions professionals, faculty, alumni, and third-year students. Each file is carefully read by members of the Admissions Committee and many factors - both academic and non-academic - are taken into consideration. What we find is that the number of qualified applicants far exceeds the number of available seats in the class. Indeed, we receive almost 6,000 applications for our class of 250 students. Given the competitiveness of our admissions process, we are unable to accept many fine candidates.

We congratulate you on your many achievements to date. Your intellectual drive and unique perspective will certainly allow you to follow a distinctive path. We appreciate your interest in the Law School and wish you great success in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Renee C. Post
Associate Dean"

To be fair, your 173 LSAT is a stellar score and 3.3x is not too low for a splitter. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm sure you would've had a good shot at NYU/Columbia. Congrats on Penn!

^^I agree.

Speculation. They're probably overwhelmed with apps and making calls. So maybe they are pacing themselves this time around. The ED II deadline was only 2 weeks ago. Plus, some had the option of submitting materials this past Monday.

Has anybody else who changed from RD to ED in the last week or two not had the ED contract box checked off on the status checker? I got an email confirming that they switched my app to EDII so I'm not like worried or anything but just curious if this has been other people's experience.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
