Hah well that doesn't exactly ease my mind. If anything that would seem to point to an outright rejection, given how early I applied.

Whoa, according to LSN, yesterday was just a day of rejections and waitlists for all Sept., Oct., and early, early Nov. applicants. Now I am scared... applied late November... with similar stats to the waitlisted applicants !

Surprisingly waitlisted - better than a rejection.

It seems like both BC and BU are being very YP-happy this cycle. I wonder if it's because they're each trying to edge out the other in the rankings.

This appears to be a pretty competitive cycle. I've been waitlisted at 2 schools I would have gotten into easily last year.
Glad I submitted early as I received many acceptances from my top schools early on but for any that took their time
the waitlist seems to be looming large for even those at medians. Lots of takers and many good scores and the schools are seeing that now I guess.
The good news is they will all still have to fill out their bottom ranks. This cycle will demand patience.....

Looks like the first wave of rejections last year was January 9. Seems to be similar this year.

5 people on LSN reported rejections yesterday so +1 on the similarity.

Current 3L. If anyone has questions about BU, feel free to reach out here or through PM.

How was OCI past summer? Were a lot of the firms the Boston offices? The TLS Ask BU thread is pretty dead so it'd be cool to get a POV from more recent years.

OCI is generally the Boston offices of all the big firms and all the regional firms in ME/CT/MA/NH. However, there are also several NYC-based firms that don't have Boston offices such as Cahill who are part of the OCI program. If you are interested in other cities, there are expansive off-campus interview programs in NYC, Philly, DC, LA, SF, and CHI that I remember. People I know got offers through every program (outside Philly, I don't remember anyone I know getting an offer through that one).

How does the off-campus one in NYC work? Around when is it and are students generally successful through it?

The NYC one works just like OCI. You apply through the Symplicity portal and then you get pre-selects with interview times. The interviews are about 3 weeks before OCI starts. They all take place over a two day span in a hotel in NYC; I think when I did it there were maybe 50ish firms that had interviews. Its a joint program with BC, so both schools share the waiting room and interview on the same days. Of the people I know that did it, I'd say over half got offers. (Of course this is biased information because this is only people I actually speak to and not a sample of all BU's students)

The best part of all the off-campus programs is they take place before OCI, so if you are really wanting to knock out screener interview experience, go to NYC or one or two of the others. I interviewed in a city I had no plans of working in just to get interview experience. Another positive is that most of the off-campus programs are early enough that you may have callbacks (and even offers) before OCI starts, which is a huge relief during OCI madness.

Oh wow, that's pretty cool actually! I'm super curious about this but I should probably get accepted before asking a million more questions.

So my application has been complete since mid-October and it looks like a significant number of people who applied around then have been accepted, rejected or waitlisted. It's been complete radio silence for me. Do you think I should reach out to the admissions office or just continue to sit tight?

Sit tight—they have a lot of applicants this cycle.

Waitlisted today (165/3.4). Looks like they're waitlisting all the 165's with below median GPAs. In the last few years, 165 and a 3.4 would have most likely gotten me an acceptance but 166 seems to be the splitter cutoff this cycle.
