It stays at complete until decision made, but there will be changes to the current status date which indicate review of your application.ChiCityLove wrote:Does ND's status checker say "Under Review" at any point or is it just "Complete" until a decision is made?

Does anyone know how they deal with Merit/need based aid. I know some schools ask you to submit a scholarship application form but I found nothing of that nature on their website. Do they just automatically consider you for merit aid without you submitting any further documents? I am RD.

Checking in. URM - GPA and LSAT ~ median.
Went complete on 12/7. Any sense on how long might it take? Late this month, or sometime next year?

Under review since 11/13 - does the status change before a decision is made?

NDLS alumnus here. Two points:
First: Notre Dame may be the best decision of your life if you make the most out of your law school experience.
Second: If you didn't get on the first try, no worries. Go to another school for your 1L year and work your tail off. You may find success on the transfer cycle...

Submitted 11/13. I've had at least 2 status changes (I think I remember a third), current one is 12/14. Waiting game...

I doubt it is bad news yet. This is a strange year for them. By this time last year they had admitted many over a steady stream of days and this year there was one blast then virtually nothing. It's like they started Christmas break early.....

Re: Notre Dame Law School c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-18)
I wonder if there has been a large increase in well qualified applicants that has made it more difficult to decide between candidates. I have heard rumors floating around that the number of applicants this cycle has increased something like 17% over the last, with a large increase in high scorers as well. Again, these are just rumors. No idea if there is any substance to them.lawdaddy1 wrote:I doubt it is bad news yet. This is a strange year for them. Doubt that's it. Numbers well above median are just sitting as well. These are people who's numbers landed big scholly's last year.
I think ND is just slow this year.

Apps are up ~14%, with some of the largest increases occurring above those scoring 160+. Unlike the poster above, I actually think this is playing a role in why many admissions cycles will be slower this year. There was a tremendous uptick in December takers. If I'm an admissions officer and I know that there will be a massive amount of well-qualified apps coming in after December scores are released, I'm sitting on the apps that I already have a little while longer.

Re: Notre Dame Law School c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-18)
I wasn't disagreeing about the fact of more test takers, just that I wouldn't think ND is doing that
given that they've already had a wave of acceptances, many at below median. They certainly could be but
I have to say that for people that are looking at schools from 12-20 in rankings and a school like Vandy accepts
you in November and ND sits on it for 2 months they would probably say that their not feeling the love.... of course
there are a number of schools that fall in that range and I can see the T14 waiting for sure, but below T14 it seems a stretch.

An additional point, the reason I feel this way is that the December test is one of the reasons they have rolling admissions.

Re: Notre Dame Law School c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-18)
Most of the people I have seen admitted were at or above medians, with perhaps 1 or 2 that stood out as not. Remember that many of the numbers we are seeing are also self reported, and biased because of that. There is nothing AFAIK that would stop me from claiming to get in to a T14 on a full ride with a 140 LSAT and 2.3 GPA. Also, many people admitted do not use sites like LSN (or even this site). We only ever have a partial, imperfect data set to work with.lawdaddy1 wrote:I wasn't disagreeing about the fact of more test takers, just that I wouldn't think ND is doing that

Re: Notre Dame Law School c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-18)
Just since you mentioned the two schools, ND accepted me in the first wave, and I’ve been sitting at complete since 9/6 for Vandy. ND is a target school for me, and Vandy is a bit of a reach (basically hoping for waitlist). If people who got into Vandy already are hearing nothing from ND, it may be that theres some yp going on on NDs part.lawdaddy1 wrote:I wasn't disagreeing about the fact of more test takers, just that I wouldn't think ND is doing that
