Date changed yesterday with the status still saying "application complete". Does the date change mean anything for Notre Dame?

On their website it says the date will change as it moves through the review process, but the status won't change until a decision is made.ugatvandy wrote:My status checker still just says application complete, but the date changed

Hey guys. I'm checking in from NC. Applied ED to NDLS about a week ago. Hopefully admissions will get rolling sooner this year than last. I would love to know if I am in or out before exams (not that I suppose it matters that much).
Anyway, good luck to everyone! Hopefully we will be classmates next year!

How do you like South bend? Is there a lot to do or is it pretty much a small town? My fear is that it will be difficult to be in your mid-20s on campus, being that it's a large university, which primarily consists of undergraduates.SomewhatLearnedHand wrote:Was undergrad at ND, so feel free to shoot me any questions about the school generally . I'm in my late 20's. I don't know any undergrads. We're confined to the law school area and get to keep to ourselves unless you're trying to meet them. It hasn't been an issue for me at all. SB has bars, and a target, not sure what you are really looking to do. The food is awful. You can go to the lake if you find the time. Our library is pretty. I assume you'll spend a lot of time there.Versailles1919 wrote:How do you like South bend? Is there a lot to do or is it pretty much a small town? Bar review is every Thursday, the law school picks a different bar and they head out. The bar scene is fine if you're into it. I can't lie to you about the food. I miss Mexican food. And sushi. I wouldn't change my decision to come here, I do love it, but I just want decent sushi.Versailles1919 wrote:Lexigator wrote:I'm in my late 20's. I don't know any undergrads. Re: Notre Dame Law School c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-18)
Lexigator,
Where do most law students live? On campus, or off? I have been looking at the housing options at Notre Dame and in South Bend at large. The law school website doesn't give much information on the on campus housing options. In particular there seems to be a dearth of information on the Fisher, O'Hara Grace Residencies. Also, do most off campus students drive on to campus for class, or do busses run into the city?

Some live directly across the street at campus view or Places like that. It's not technically campus housing, but it might as well be considering the distance. Downtown is pretty close and a lot of people live there too, but a car or good roommate is needed for when the weather turns. I live in a house and so do a few others. It seems to be cheaper than some apartments. I'm not sure of the bus schedule. Most walk or drive. The weather hasn't been complete shit yet so people are still riding bikes somehow. There is a large packet I got after acceptance that is essentially a guide to south bend that will show a bunch of other housing options. If you're thinking of a roommate, there is a Facebook page you're added to after acceptance and most people found their person on that. I hope I answered your questionOldCollegeTry wrote:Lexigator,

Oh, also I know some do live on campus, but it seems like that's the minority by far. I don't really have anything there. I guess I didn't answer it as well as I could have.

I would avoid Fisher, O'Hara Grace like the plague. They're pretty dated and crappy.OldCollegeTry wrote:Lexigator,

South Bend isn't too bad and it'll grow on you (at least it did for me). Definitely not a thriving metropolis but there are a handful of good bars and I used to see law students out fairly regularly at the usual spots. As Lexigator mentioned, the law school is right on main circle so I would imagine you wouldn't really interact with undergrads too much if you're coming from off campus. In terms of food Id say there are all the usual chains and a couple really nice restaurants within a ten minute drive- i guess it really depends what you're looking for. I'd agree that the cuisine is probably lacking in variety.Versailles1919 wrote:Lexigator wrote:I'm in my late 20's. I don't know any undergrads. FYI Lexigator- Flamingo's is a pretty good authentic Mexican spot and they do dollar tacos on sundays. Salsa's is another one but i never tried the food. Pretty sure everyone just went for margs on wednesdays.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
