I believe it’s one of the supplemental essay options

I believe it’s one of the supplemental essay options
Essay One
Say more about your interest in the University of Michigan Law School. What do you believe Michigan has to offer to you and you to Michigan?

Essay Two
Describe your current hopes for your career after completing law school. How will your education, experience, and development so far support those plans?

Essay Three
If you do not think that your academic record or standardized test scores accurately reflect your ability to succeed in law school, please tell us why.

Essay Four
Describe a failure or setback in your life. How did you overcome it? What, if anything, would you do differently if confronted with this situation again?

Essay Five
Describe an experience that speaks to the problems and possibilities of diversity in an educational or work setting.

Essay Six
What do you think are the skills and values of a good lawyer? Which do you already possess? Which do you hope to develop?

Essay Seven
How might your perspectives and experiences enrich the quality and breadth of the intellectual life of our community or enhance the legal profession?

Essay Eight
Describe your educational experiences so far. What kinds of learning environments, teaching methods, student cultures, and/or evaluation processes lead you to thrive, or contrariwise, thwart your success?
Are you referring to essay five or seven? Maybe I didn't see them as diversity statements in my head.
If it’s a general statement then 7, if your statement is about a problem or specific challenge stemming from diversity then 5 could work too.

+1 I used topic 7 for my diversity statement.

I applied back in late October. Since then, fall grades posted and I got a slight bump (3.46 to what should be 3.53) in my LSAC GPA. Should I let the school know via a LOCI or just assume the school will see an updated transcript?

Submitted today...feeling okay about my chances despite being at the median for LSAT but below the 25th for GPA...one of my optional essays (in addition to a Why Michigan?) I tried to explain my potential is really the 3.6+ GPA I averaged over my last 3 years of college instead of the 3.0 I had my freshman year. Hopefully my work experience helps even though it is in a pretty uninspiring/not at all relevant field.

Depends if they accept me . But I'd probably go to the first one available as long as I'm free.

Does anyone else find Michigan' status checker the absolute opposite of "Magical"? It means so much more when the schools only change the date rarely, instead of doing it every day even when they obviously aren't even working

It's nice that you can check it once in the morning and not worry about it for the rest of the day.

For those worrying about the weather here i wanted to let you know that it is currently so cold outside that on my walk home from dinner condensation both formed and froze on my mustache.

Nah, don't worry about it. Born and raised Midwesterner (who lives in Michigan now), it's abnormal for this degree of cold to last this long. Get a warm coat, a good scarf, and a warm hat, you'll be fine.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
