This is actually an interesting question because my freshman year and this year there have been polar vortexes but my sophomore and junior years it was uncharacteristically warm. I'm from NY so it's not like I'd ever experienced prolonged periods of warm or cold so I think I'm a decent measurement.
Honestly in the two years that it's been particularly cold I find that your get used to it pretty quickly. I've gotten to the point where it can be like 15-20 degrees out and I make the 5-10 minute walk to the gym wearing shorts. In general when it gets really cold (like single digits) that's when I wear long underwear and a trapper hat and I'm usually good.
As a Georgian, this sounds terrifying to me.

Haha, you'll be fine. I got friends from Florida and Los Angeles that are doing just fine here.

(also if it wasn't clear from this statement and as I've mentioned ITT a few times I'm currently a UG in Ann Arbor so if anybody has any questions about the town or the University as a whole I'm always down to talk Michigan. Also the law quad had been under construction for months and it's really taking away from the aesthetic)
On a scale of 1-10 how cold would you say you are on a regular basis?
edit: 10 is really cold

It’s comforting to hear it is easy to get used to! We’ve had one of the coldest winters where I live in Texas but I’ve found ive been the warmest I have ever been simply by getting better winter clothes. Made my spouse and I go walk around in 20 degree weather and freezing rain and once we were dressed appropriately it really wasn’t that bad. Going back up to the 40s a few days later we were like, oh, this really isn’t so bad.
I’m about to go to Chicago for work in a week, so extra opportunity to test out my winter gear and see how it holds up!

I just ordered a new jacket thanks to Walliums suggestion, so maybe I won't die in the cold, we'll see.

I’m from North Dakota and the last few weeks we’ve had a ton of -40 degree windchill days. Hearing cold described as single digits temps makes AA sound like a tropical paradise.

It's sunny and 65 in Georgia... LOL.
I cannot even fathom being that cold.

It appears I'm right there with you. Farewell, Michigan applicants thread. I'll see some of y'all elsewhere, I'm sure.

No, I sort of thought I was getting Dinged after not getting It. It seemed as if they were telling strong applicants that they are interested In not to get worried yet.

Same deal here. I applied in November, so I wasn't sure if It was an impending ding or just that I wasn't waiting long enough to get a Sit Tight.

Same. Fun times y’all. Crazy amount of debt here we come.
I know it seems a little petty because omg I’m truly so grateful to have just gotten in, it’s just rough when based on past data you thought you were going to get a scholarship and now it’s nothing.

Maybe you can both negotiate some $! Don’t give up on money just yet.

Yup, same for me. Honestly it made my interest in Michigan drop pretty significantly, even though my best friend went there and really loved it.

I'm sorry for y'all who aren't getting anything yet:/ Heads up, and try to negotiate!!! I'm thinking my offer might have to do with me being an electrical engineer, apparently they liked that...Idk. Regardless, good luck everyone:)
