Overall the packet similar rather similar to stuff undergrad schools send kids wanting to apply. If anything i just think its to get ppl that Michigan knows will help/want for their class and to make sure they apply.
Also went to Cornell and received the same note! I thought it was pretty great.
I do not mean to burst your bubble, but Michigan sends handwritten "We love our X grads" to everyone they send materials to from every undergrad institution.
No worries, it’s still a nice touch

The dean of the law school must be surely spending some major time with this letter then

Echoing the love here for Michigan Admissions. From their emails to their website's FAQ, it's all so personable. They're certainly carving out a niche as the nice person's law school.

YES THIS.

10/10 recommend (nicely and humorously) interacting with the admissions twitter. i have some wonderful stories
Just when I thought I couldn't dig Michigan any more, I find out about Admissions Cat. 10/10 definitely going to attend if accepted (and my chances are p darn good).

Spent last night sending photographs of the UM Law library and quad to my parents and sisters, which they are now calling "Hogwarts Law."
hello, year-ago-me
I should be so lucky!

Well it’s been nice to be relaxed for a month. Going to love the constant state of neurosis through March.

Hey guys, I got an unsolicited fee waiver from U Mich on the 10th so I decided to throw my hat in cause why not. I got an email that they received my app on 10/13 but I haven't received the status checker email, anyone else in this boat?

I'm telling myself not to expect anything from anyone (except Duke) until after Thanksgiving.

Their email they send when you submit says they'll send status checkers "mid-October," which would presumably mean like any minute.

Any Sept takers get one of these? (I don't know if QP was a Sept sitter.) I've received several fee waivers, some above UMich in the USNWR, but no Michigan waiver. Should I just email?

I don't think it's any reason to be worried. It'll come when it comes.

Now that it's officially the last full week of October I think decisions have gone out and have a brief meltdown every time someone posts in this thread.

Out of curiosity, has anyone gone and checked or remember when decisions started going out (reg decision, not ED) last year?

Wanted to ask before I go back and check myself lol

Yeah, it seems like they've gone out in early Nov (sometime around 3-5) every year for the past few years. Last year was Nov 5.

*apologies in advance to rachelac for freaking her out with notifications on this thread
