Why Berk here, but no CA ties. Seems to be a common factor, plus Berk has always been a bit less predictable by the numbers it seems.SopranoSaxophone wrote:Also wrote a Why Berk, also no CA ties, also already accepted to several schools higher ranked than Berkeley. I'm not totally heartbroken, but I'm definitely confused.38981928 wrote:Also above both 75ths (plus Why Berkeley) and waitlisted as well. OOS and no ties to Berkeley/CA whatsoever so I'm thinking that's a factor, and if the "Trump bump" is legit (email cited increase in applications this year) I feel like Berkeley would get an especially large increase compared to other schools because of its rep as a bastion of liberal ideals. I hope I get in off the waitlist, but I've already been accepted to three amazing schools (one ranked higher than Berkeley) so my ego isn't bruised too badly!SopranoSaxophone wrote:Got the email. Waitlisted at Berkeley despite being over both 75ths. Could this be YP or do I just suck?

Also got WL'd above/at both 75ths. I'll just tell myself I wasn't that interested so my feelings aren't hurt lol

Also Waitlisted. One point shy of 75th LSAT/median GPA/URM. From CA and wrote a Why Berkeley

I applied the day it opened, and I have been UR since 10/3. Berkeley is a reach for me, so I’m surprised that I didn’t get dinged today. I’m not really sure if I should take it as a good sign. Either way it seems like some obvious yield protection in today’s wave with so many people above both 75ths being waitlisted.

I’m starting to think this was a YP wave, because so far no one who was waitlisted had less than great stats...principalagent wrote:Jesus whatcaffeinatedvirgo wrote:Also Waitlisted. One point shy of 75th LSAT/median GPA/URM. From CA and wrote a Why Berkeley

Accepted, above 75ths, OOS, no why Berk. Bit confused as to what's going on in light of everyone else's posts

Yeah I think so. I'm mostly indifferent (I'm not even really surprised) but this was a brutal WL wave based on everyone posting. Yikes. Thanks for the support y'all!jimmyplayer601 wrote:I’m starting to think this was a YP wave, because so far no one who was waitlisted had less than great stats...principalagent wrote:Jesus whatcaffeinatedvirgo wrote:Also Waitlisted. Was anyone in this wave originally an ED applicant? Wondering when they'll start sifting through the ED -> RD folks.

I'm curious about this too. I wonder if anyone who was rolled over from ED to RD has been accepted yet? Really hoping that we aren't on the bottom of the pilelawlawlawzz wrote:Was anyone in this wave originally an ED applicant? Wondering when they'll start sifting through the ED -> RD folks.

How long were you all in Complete ("We have received your application")? I have been stuck there since 11/30 -- at or above both 75ths.

Did you guys apply ED or RD? I've been stuck at UR since 11/6.SopranoSaxophone wrote:Also wrote a Why Berk, also no CA ties, also already accepted to several schools higher ranked than Berkeley. Re: Berkeley Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
I'm a splitter and always thought that Berkeley was out of reach bc of my low GPA.
I've been UR since 10/12 and haven't been dinged yet so I am starting to think it's a possibility. Berkeley would be ideal because I currently live in the Bay Area, and want to stay.
Stop playing with my heart!!!

I’m in the same boat, but I’m less optimistic. Last year there was a wave of rejections in early January.scalaw wrote:I'm a splitter and always thought that Berkeley was out of reach bc of my low GPA.

Admits, have you received any sort of physical admissions package through the mail or is it all digital? I'm headed away for 2 weeks and am wondering if there's anything mail-wise to ask someone in my building to look out for while I'm gone.
