No, just after you're admitted.
admissions wrote:Does Cornell Law require a Dean's Certification with the application?
No, a Dean's Certification is not a required element at the time of application. However, all admitted students must have a completed Dean's Certification Form submitted to the Admissions Office by July 1st. The form is required from all degree-granting institutions. Failure to submit a completed Dean's Certification by the July 1 deadline may constitute grounds for an admitted student to lose their place in the first year class. More information about this form will be provided upon admission.
They used to also require it when applying if you checked "yes" in response to the C&F question on the application, but seems like no longer.

How long after you guys submitted your applications did you get a confirmation that they received it?
I got a confirmation for every school I’ve applied to so far except Cornell...

Did you get a status checker email? That's all I've received from Cornell (and it came the morning after I sent the application).

No, I haven’t, and I submitted last night...
Edit: I guess I should wait it out until like Monday then email them to ensure they received it?

Quick question:
Is "ready for review" the same as "complete"?

That's odd, since it seemed automated, but I submitted a month ago so things might've slowed down now if more applications are coming in.
Your plan for Monday sounds reasonable to me.

Yeah, I originally thought maybe it went to my spam, but it wasn’t there either. Hopefully they don’t just hate me. Lol.

It’s now been a week since I submitted... no confirmation that they have my application. I emailed admissions on Monday, no response. Cornell hates me

Glad to know it’s not just me. I mean, I know theyre busy but I have gotten a confirmation and status checker from literally every other school I’ve applied to. It’s weird.
Maybe they just hate people from Georgia

Update: just received it

did anyone else have the date of their status change but not the status itself? my status was "ready for review" on 9/28 and still says that but the date is now 10/10.

Has anyone received a waiver since the Sept. LSAT scores came out? Waivers from all my other schools (except top 6) have come through, but crickets from Cornell, and it seems like they don't want to hear from individuals on this.
It's kind of offputting actually that they're not in the game like the others.

I hadn't heard anything since the initial rounds. I solicited and failed, despite having numbers that typically get a waiver from them. I finally gave up waiting and just submitted. Maybe they'll send out a new round in the next week or so (Columbia supposedly will), but I wouldn't wait any longer than next Friday.

I hear you! Finally have my materials more or less together and am feeling super cheap but also feeling kind of antsy to just get things rolling. I'll do exactly as you suggest. Thanks!

Was it solicited? Well, with your stats we could expect that. But still, you are the first one since quite a lot, as far as I see!

also got an unsolicited fee waiver.
prob due to my GPA (3.8+) because my current LSAT score won't do much for me with them

And, naturally, they come out 3 days after I give up waiting. Heartbroken. Congrats, though.

Re: Cornell Applicants Class of 2021 (2017-2018)
No fee waiver for me, kinda disappointed since I got a waiver from every school from UPenn down. LSAT is 172... Those 80$ will actually be a hit on my short-term finances...
At this point there is no way I can get one right? I also tried to solicit in early september but I was directed to the CRS, like everyone it seems. However, I missed both waves
