Also got an acceptance call today!
First one of the cycle, and I was pretty shocked. I initially sent the dean to voicemail because I thought it was a telemarketing call and was trying to download a podcast lol

Stuck at work all day yesterday without my phone and missed a call from the dean of admissions. Assuming it's good news! So excited. Waiting a couple hours to call back.

Good deal. I'm currently on active duty. Glad to see UCLA showing veterans some love. Hopefully I hear soonusmc.benson wrote:I did not; mine was Regular Decision.Rllesueur wrote:Did those of you who already got accepted apply early decision?

Does anyone know when the school sends out their scholarship offers?
I was called by the Dean and accepted on Monday, and then got my official package in the mail with my letter yesterday, but neither mentioned scholarship offers. Does UCLA determine theirs at a later period or does this simply mean I was not offered anything?

In the c/o 2020 thread I believe people started to receive scholarship offers in late-January, so I think you're all good. I wouldn't worry too much right at this moment.usmc.benson wrote:Does anyone know when the school sends out their scholarship offers?

They came out late February last year and late March the year before.usmc.benson wrote:Does anyone know when the school sends out their scholarship offers?

Excuse the poor question but what is the point of applying ED if they're giving out decisions this early anyway?

I think it wouldn't be worth it to anyone above both medians, but to somebody below one or both who was willing to pay, ED could secure them a spot.jjdude14 wrote:Excuse the poor question but what is the point of applying ED if they're giving out decisions this early anyway?

Not sure what scholarship amount will be yet (if any); will have to wait for official package w/ offer.
Very excited, as UCLA was one of my initial schools of interest.
My stats:
LSAT: 165
GPA: 4.06
softs: Marine Corps Veteran (4 years active duty before college)

The Distinguished Scholars program sounds really enticing but I am hesitant to apply because what if I am able to get into a T-14? But perhaps a full-ride at UCLA is worth not going to a T-14 which I would probably have to pay sticker at.

IMHO, a full ride at UCLA is definitely better than paying sticker at t14 (with possible exception of t6), if you are good with working in SoCal. However, it depends heavily on your career goals...urmlaw17 wrote:The Distinguished Scholars program sounds really enticing but I am hesitant to apply because what if I am able to get into a T-14? Those of you writing a programmatic contribution:
Are they looking for just 999 words or are they hoping for something more fleshed out?

I'm going to try to swing for the Law Achievement Scholarship -- full tuition and it's non-binding. Definitely think only paying COA at UCLA is a solid choice over sticker/close to sticker at a t14, especially if you're into living in SoCalurmlaw17 wrote:The Distinguished Scholars program sounds really enticing but I am hesitant to apply because what if I am able to get into a T-14? Why does UCLA only offer interviews on a 'Case by case basis?' does this mean that they only interview those they are on the fence about?

I believe last year, they interviewed several International applicants and all of the ED scholarship applicants.Last Chance wrote:Why does UCLA only offer interviews on a 'Case by case basis?' does this mean that they only interview those they are on the fence about?

2L here. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. It’s a great school with incredible career prospects (especially big law). The youngest school in the Top 15. I can totally see it making a strong push to get into T14. I highly recommend UCLA.
