Do not do this.
I respect your suggestion but I'm honestly livid. Spent too much time on my application to be rejected in the first round.
Rejected as in really rejected, or rejected as in no JS1 yet? No salt, just curious.
No JS1 yet. No worries.
Just a thought: when did you submit? Based on your earlier post, it looks like you only submitted end of November, which means you still have plenty of time before "No JS1" really starts to mean anything. Some people are getting them, and I totally understand getting antsy, but some people who apply in September only get their JS1 in March. It really becomes a matter of whose desk you land on and how quickly the turnaround happens. Keep in mind, too, there are a plethora of applicants in mid- to late-November, so it might just be a waiting game at this point. Should you not hear by March it's probably okay to reach out and say that you're still extremely interested, but now is probably too early.

EDIT: If you want to update them about work changes, that's fine, though. In that email you could add a sentence to the effect of, "I'm extremely excited about the prospects of HLS," or something like that, but I wouldn't go too crazy.

If that helps you sleep at night.

But I got the Zoom interview calendar and can tell you that there are invites on 1/23-1/26 and then also on 1/30. Currently 1/23 is all booked. Anyone else who got the invite can verify that info.

Sorry you didn't get an invite.

For me this is the worst part. I submitted late November too and I would be fine with a Harvard rejection. It sucks to see people who submitted two weeks ago get their JS1 while I sit here with no idea of whether my app has been reviewed and tossed aside or hasn't even been opened yet. I'm not really the type to just go with the flow and not worry, especially about something important. This is a learning opportunity, I guess.

Harvard does seem to move the best candidates through quickly. To me, this suggests that they've at least seen all the November applicants and the reason I haven't gotten a JS1 invite is because I'm less competitive than others.

Well...what if someone submitted the day apps opened, had a 174 with an S international transcript, and still hadn't gotten a JS1...?

Then again I think I may have just royally screwed up something on my app.

I know it's really frustrating playing the waiting game right now (I'm still hoping for that JS2 myself), but if it makes anyone feel better, all four people I know who are attending / have attended Harvard Law got there off the waitlist or heard back late March. I know for sure that two of them submitted apps as soon as they were available. I'm sure the people I know aren't the only ones who've had this timeline, and I know TLS is full of a lot of gunner-types so it can be stressful not to hear back, but I think it's still very early in the grand scheme of things!

+2. People need to relax. It's a competitive year, and you don't guarantee ANYTHING at any school by having a specific GPA and LSAT score. There are lots of very qualified, fantastic candidates with no JS1 thus far (and not just saying that because I'm one of them - I know I'm a long shot for Harvard). It will be ok.

Guys, question: when is the best time for me to update my application with last semester’s graduate GPA? Had my JS1 01/11.

Eh, still seems like a troll account from someone who got a previous JS1, lmao
You’re taking your frustration out on someone who didn’t deserve such a thing. I made an account to announce that I had a JS1 way back in December so yes, people can make accounts to announce such things. I held off on making an account because I was hesitant about people telling me that I didn’t deserve my application or whatever because I didn’t take the LSAT. People have their reasons for lurking. Also, people before you have gotten JS1s with GRE-only applications.

However, your neuroticism does not help. Taking it out on this community does not help either. I would not like you as a classmate, if this is how you treat other people. And frankly, if I were an admissions committee member, I would be tempted to not give you a JS1 because how you react under stress (whether real or imagined) shows a lot about your character.

Also, to everyone who hasn’t yet received a JS1: I know it feels like torture, but take a look at previous admissions spreadsheets. Some admits had to wait months for an interview invite - my wait time this year was nearly two months. It’s much too early to despair, especially if you went complete in November.

so my GPA went up (.04+) and I was wondering if I sent them an email with my transcript (I've already received a JS1) if it would matter?

I sent them an email updating them and then also forwarded LSAC my new transcript, which they'll disseminate to every school you applied to.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
