Honestly, I'm scared decisions are going to come out and I won't get one! It would make me nervous pre-Christmas. Enjoying blissful ignorance.

If you have interviewed already and aren't part of the first wave of JS2 can you safely assume that you are being WL/R? Or is there a better possibility that you may receive a JS2 later on?

Nah, from what I've read that decisions come for the first few rounds of JS1s through January.

no decision in january might mean that, but i think the first JS2 is small....? idfk.

lol bc it sucks when you have your hopes up and then they get crushed!!! better to feel at least slightly realistic about it.

But also, +1 on the whole "nervous I won't be in the first JS2 wave." I was in the second JS1 wave, so I'm hoping to hear back but I'll def be on edge the entire time if I don't

i'm with you. i know i'll be a ball of anxiety if i'm not in the first wave of js2s even though i definitely would not be surprised as my hls interview did not go nearly as well as any of my others

+1 Totally possible to be in the first wave of JS1's and the last wave of JS2's. In light of the most recent LSAT data, I suspect Harvard is going to release a very small batch of JS2's before the holidays. I'm guessing that these will be the 175+ 3.8+ candidates who already had JS1's. Splitters and people around median are probably going to have to wait a little longer.

pls be true

I kinda hope I'm wrong, since I'm pretty much excluding myself from any good news before Christmas. However, I just don't see Harvard looking to jump on the median/splitter candidates before the December test results are out. Once December scores come back they'll have a much better picture of the applicant pool and that will ultimately determine future rounds of JS1s and JS2s

I think that if your softs are good enough, you might have a good chance to get in the first wave even if you're a splitter. but that just might be wishful thinking lol.

Maybe they're taking that one week break to discuss LSAT/GRE? This seems to be the only big difference from previous years when no such break was observed. Unfortunately, this would suggest JS2 on the 18th :(.

Good point. I hadn't considered this, but it actually makes a lot of sense.

you'd think they would have already discussed the GRE when they decided to take it and throughout the process. unsure what would come from such a long discussion in the middle of cycle

I know everyone’s waiting for JS2, but I was wondering...does anyone know how many applicants are invited for interviews each cycle??

+1 million. And no one needs it more than the Harvard applicants, who I swear are losing their damn minds. (No JS1 here yet. And yet life goes on.)

I read on the admissions blog that everyone has to go through a faculty review post-JS1 to be admitted, so my thinking is that could be the random variable timing-wise. Like some professors might just take longer than others so even if you're in the first JS1 you might get your decision later. I feel like it's probably hard for the admissions people to pressure the faculty to get files done quickly. Curious about people's thoughts since I haven't seen much discussion about this aspect of the process.

I've also heard that just because you had a JS1 before the first JS2 but arent admitted in the first wave it doesn't mean you were necessarily passed over. Your file may just be sitting on a desk somewhere.

Looking at past years data, the pre-Christmas waves do tend to be over both 75ths, but there are plenty of people that are above both 75ths that went complete rather early that are not admitted until January.
