Re: Harvard Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
Gotta say I think the application window should be shorter to allow for faster turnaround. Applying on the very first day and not hearing back for 6+ months creates huge amounts of unnecessarily protracted stress; the fact alone that some people are forced to wait and hope for over half a year only to be let down should be enough motivation to change the system. Also, since information is inevitably going to get out there about other people getting in significantly earlier than others, the huge window creates a dynamic where some students who are ultimately accepted head to school in August knowing they barely made the cut and were considered less qualified than the majority of their new peers, which I can definitely see leading to self-doubt about belonging. KJD applicants don't even have their grades until December. Apps don't need to open in September if they don't close until February. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see why the window for submitting apps should be any larger than six weeks or so, or why anybody should have to wait longer than 2-3 months for a decision

It's always hard to wait for something that you're not even sure is comingthepsychedelic wrote:not sure but i was just grasping wildly at anything that would account for not getting a call. guess harvard just don’t love me thozhyunjc wrote:Are calls based on geographic location?thepsychedelic wrote:any west coast calls? congrats to everyone!!

It's 100% too soon to worry. That wasn't even 2 weeks ago. You're fine.dm1683 wrote:Soooo dejected right now. Telling myself it was because of the late interview (1/10) but who am i kidding, this cycle is just eating me alive.

this combined with no news from Columbia or Chicago AND my ubereats driver canceling my order after calling me to tell me that he was downstairs and would be up shortly is making this out to be the most disappointing day everJt41 wrote:I interviewed with Tom and got in today, but the call wasn’t from him. Probably, yes. Unless you want to be a wishful thinker and say they're taking a lunch break, but realistically...doyouknowdawae wrote:Guessing the wave today is over?

I wonder why they don’t let people know when the waves start/end. It’s not like it would provoke any hysteria that wouldn’t already arise. May as well drop a tweet letting people know what’s going on.

A little late, but in earlier today (before lunchtime ET). Let this be a hopeful sign for anyone who feels they had a weird/not-super-exciting interview!

For people who got JS2s.. when do we see it in writing? Email/letter/status checker/anything?

I give up. Single most disappointing day of my life, only to be bested by that inevitable WL/ding email that will surely follow. Seriously waiting for another month, only to be disappointed again just seems impossible.

I know the status checker updates overnight, but honestly my heart was pounding too loudly in my ears for me to grasp details as to when the email/letter were coming in!prufrocklaw wrote:For people who got JS2s.. when do we see it in writing? Email/letter/status checker/anything?

In this morning, JS 1 early November, 175/3.9/ivy ug. Kept convincing myself that my interview went badly... Getting ghosted by other places like a lot of people this cycle. Don't despair. I am pulling for all of you who are waiting!

Applied first day the application opened. Interviewed the first week of November. LSAT above 75th and GPA between 25th and 50th.
Still haven't heard anything. This all sucks.
