Applied 12/23, just went complete! Those of you who got a JS1 request: how long did it take after going complete?

I just got an email from Harvard, completely unrelated to the law school... Thanks for the heart attack, I needed it!

It took about a month for me. I applied late November, went complete first week of December, and got a JS1 first week of January.InvisiblePineapple wrote:Applied 12/23, just went complete! Those of you who got a JS1 request: how long did it take after going complete?

Complete 11/22, JS1 01/03 - so about 6 weeks (including the holiday).InvisiblePineapple wrote:Applied 12/23, just went complete! Those of you who got a JS1 request: how long did it take after going complete?

Hi everyone!
This is my first time posting. I debated about joining for awhile because I knew I would get sucked in if I did, but here I am. I applied in late November, had my JS1 today. Hoping for the best.

When would we hear back about a JS1? Does not getting one basically preclude admission? If so, why don't they just ding me already!!!

JS1s are required for admissions. Historically, JS1 invites occur through March. How long it takes to receive a JS1 invite if you're getting one depends on when you submitted and the strength of your application. If you're above 75ths and have a strong app, you're likely to hear sooner than someone below medians.ChutzpahSaxa15 wrote:When would we hear back about a JS1? Today and tomorrow are unavailable on interview slots - wonder if that has any significance!

The more I think about it the more meh I am about how my interview went. Jealous of everyone who says their interviewer was really excited/energetic.

At this point, I don't really remember my interview (it was 11/21 lol), but I doubt that a fifteen minute interview could truly make that substantial of a difference.rideagain wrote:The more I think about it the more meh I am about how my interview went. Exact same. It's comforting to know folks don't all feel as enthusiastic about how it went! (And not just because it didn't go as great as they hoped!)

Mine was a while ago haha. I've definitely replayed it in my head plenty of times. I kinda agree because it's 15 minutes and like 4 questions but still. You always want that stuff to go great.MonicaYoung_LOL wrote:At this point, I don't really remember my interview (it was 11/21 lol), but I doubt that a fifteen minute interview could truly make that substantial of a difference.rideagain wrote:The more I think about it the more meh I am about how my interview went. Hoping someone could provide perspective. I went complete in early Nov and havent heard anything since. Should I give up hope for ever getting a JS1? Seems like I was an auto ding

Don’t give up hope! Judging from previous admissions spreadsheets, some admits waited that long or longer for a JS1.TheMule wrote:Hoping someone could provide perspective. To the folks who know way more than me, does Harvard's status checker do anything after "Complete," or do you just go complete, and then cross your fingers for a JS1 from there?
