Anyway, hls c/o2018 here. When I applied, I applied with good stats--3.9/176. Applied real early in October, had my js1 in mid November and was passed again and again for js2 until I think it was early February when a huge wave came in.

I know waiting is a terrible game, I was so nervous and terrified when js2 eluded me a few times. but it's still quite early in the cycle (they haven't even stopped accepting applications yet!) and there isn't anyone here who doesn't deserve js2 who already received js1. good luck y'all!

tbf, there's a difference between Stifling stats and poster in question here. a quick peek at lsn show the poster in question's chances and he likely knows it well, so it's kinda amusing to see him post the qs he posted.

Hi there - somebody had raised a point about which I was also curious, and I expressed my interest accordingly. I never asked anyone for an opinion as to whether or not I might be fortunate enough so as to be admitted to HLS, as I understand there are other resources that can be used to address that question; nor did I mention my numbers of my own accord. I'm sorry to see that this offended you.

I don't think anyone is a lock-in for anything, but certainly envy you your faith in the world! Good luck with your cycle, if you're applying as well. Please also note, that I'm a girl

Here on out, I think it might be better if we could try not to detract as much from the thread's central purpose.

appind, idk what you're talking about or who you're referring to in your post. If there is something specific that you think I did wrong, let me know; tbh most of the post seems a bit cryptic, but then again I haven't been keeping up with most of what's been going on in this thread.

My intent was not to make anyone feel bad or enable anyone else. I didn't refer to any particular person's case but rather spoke in general terms of having an lsat score above the 75th percentile. The fact that this (by definition) applies to a very small percentage of the applicant pool may be unfortunate, but the corollary to this is that any number below the 25th percentile is, at least for ABA reporting purposes, equal to a 170. This is obviously good news for some of the less fortunate applicants you referenced in your post.

Would like to bump this to see how many more folks. I know one person went complete on Jan 17 and got a JS 1 a few days after that. Another guy complete on Jan 3 and another on Jan 10, but what percentage of Jan completes who will end up getting JS 1s have already gotten them?

So according to law school numbers, a bunch of people were rejected on February 7. Any ideas if everyone was rejected or do the rejections come in waves?

Just out of curiosity, is the interview mandatory (i.e., does anyone ever get accepted to Harvard w/o the interview)? Looking at last year's JS1 cycles, it looks like I'll end up being a deny or a waitlist because I still have yet to receive a reply of any sort.

Just got the call! LSAT 175; GPA 3.99; Solid extracurriculars. Probably can't afford it, but it's an exciting option!

Hello! I was waitlisted at Harvard for 2018 Fall. I am going to go visit while checking out another school that I was accepted to and feel good about on paper. I've also been waitlisted to other T5 schools. The response I get from T5 schools is generally, "Sure, come visit. But it's self-guided and don't expect a meeting with anybody". In this situation, how can I make an impression while visiting? Should I contact groups on my own? Unfortunately, I don't think I know any alumni (first-gen law student here), and I'm generally unsure of what to do. If I find my way into the admissions office, what kind of questions can I ask? Am I allowed to ask for tips on how/when to contact them? Also, should I contact them right afterwards and tell them what the visit was like for me? Any tips will help! If I missed another thread/forum, please let me know about it. Thanks so much. This forum is a lifesaver for people like me.

This is my actual same question, we might consider asking in another thread if we don't hear anything here!

I've used this forum a lot over the past year, but I only registered officially today.

I was accepted to HLS at the end of January 2018 (3.99 GPA, 175 LSAT, KJD, weak softs, strong PS, unique but not prestigious undergrad). I received the Hamilton from Columbia soon after, and I plan to accept it in the next week. $250,000+ dollars of debt is simply not worth it over $0 debt. Anyway, I'm happy to know someone will likely get in off the waitlist once I decline, though I'll always be a bit sad for giving up my "legally blonde" dreams (though the peace of mind that comes with financial freedom will likely soften the blow). :P
