Thank you! I haven't been monitoring the threads of schools where I'm not applying, but this is the first I've noticed someone directing folks to the spreadsheets from an applicants thread. I'm planning to do some tinkering to make them more useful for analysis (the Why Duke field isn't generating anything in that regard yet, but it will), so I'm still taking suggestions for what folks care to know. I'm guessing that PT might be useful to track. Is there anything else Duke applicants think is important?
I've updated the spreadsheet to track PT/ED/RD status, and added some basic response rate analysis for that and Why Duke. Also fixed the medians on the tables on the Analysis sheet. Gradually, this will become a more useful sheet.

Awesome. Thanks!

Also ED here, just went UR2. :?

Oh okay, hmm, wonder what that means. I think it’s good to go UR2, it shows movement with your application. I’m still UR1... lol

ED as well. UR2 yesterday. Enjoying the black box that is the non-PT application process.

I've never seen anyone go UR3, and considering that for ED they let you know by 12/31 I would think this is normal!

Random question: does anyone know if the day that you are marked complete counts as day 1 of PT, or day 0? Like if I went complete on 11/27, should I expect a response by 12/7 or 12/6?

I believe you would expect a response on 12/7! Duke says, "For example, if your application is complete on October 1, you will receive a response no later than October 11."

In! 10th day of PT. Was unfortunate enough to catch "Decision made. Watch for email." on status checker about 3 hours before the admit email.

Stats: 170/3.93 from a public Ivy down the road from Duke (NOT State). Wrote a Why Duke.

Fyi admits, if you get a big envelope in the mail in the next few days it is NOT scholarship stuff.

-someone in Durham who got excited, then learned it was just more papers selling the school

(Also I'm like committed to the school already, I shouldn't even be getting this stuff, but that's just an off topic rant)

I did not get my financial aid stuff until March if I recall.

Also, I am at Duke right now! Go Duke! Congrats. Also nice avatar.

Hi there, may I ask you about when did you request the deferral (before or after deposit?) and how did they respond(like is it really easy or relatively difficult)? I am also considering deferring (not even admitted yet lol). Thanks!

Hi guys,

So Duke's wording on the Character and Fitness section is a little vague so thought I'd ask here - is there a need to disclose a noise violation? Duke requires an explanation from someone at my UG, but I already e-mailed them and they said I had nothing to disclose since it was a house rules violation. Also is a noise violation even a "Disciplinary conduct question?". Should I still err on the side of caution and disclose and ask my UG to submit a letter saying I have no record? Lmk, and thank you!!

I had to take a medical Deferral like a week before orientation. They were really helpful through it, but I don't know how it would go asking them to just start next year. It seems like it happens fairly regularly though, they have an established form for it

Went complete on 11/15 and still haven't gone under review, Non-PT. On mylsn it seems like some people who went complete around my date heard back by December, but it's really hard to tell with all the stats on what I assume are PT.

Any guesses on what to expect from here??

Non PT usually takes some time to go through the process. I think it'll be quite some time.

+1

I went complete on 10/23 and went UR 11/27

Also, on mylsn.info, I believe that linear line as all PT

Is it the same for ED (round 2) applicants? Waiting is going to kill me. :/

i had to disclose a similarly minor thing to duke. my school had no record of it, so the deans cert thing said exactly that. if you got a warning or a sanction or whatever the language asks for, just disclose and explain what it was for. nobody will care

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
