Chiming in with everyone to say that Durham is wonderfully liberal and diverse. Coming from Arlington VA it honestly feels more accepting than that.

That being said I don't know how leaving the triangle would go, but day to day I don't think you'd notice that you're in NC

Obviously it would be better to live somewhere with systemic state support and as just an ally I can't pretend to know the life you'd live here, but it really does feel like the local government and the area itself is supporting the cause and for the 3 years of school I think it's worth keeping in mind

I know, it's super strange but they (evidently) do. I got my email at 9pm EST on a Friday while I was at a bar, I feel for the Duke adcomms

Hi, new to this tread and have a question. What do people think about Duke ED (not PT)? Powerscore said there is a significant increase of possibility for Duke, but I am not sure how that translate.

I am at there median LSAT, no GPA since I am international (have a Superior evaluation but heard they don't care), have a recommender who is alum, think Duke is my No.1 choice and money isn't a problem.

Anyone know the expected timing for PT invitations for Sept takers?

EDIT: Got it today. 3.93/170

My decision came through at about 9pm on a Sunday. I really hope they make the email Friday afternoon and just have it auto send at the end of the 10th day. It'd be brutal if they really were actually hitting send from the office on all these.

Well with your conditions, I'd say go for it! Duke nr. 1 + don't care about $$ is alone enough to say that.

Also, come check into the International students' thread!

I did it successfully and got in through PT. Slippin’ Jimmy did as well. They’ll ask about your background and you’ll offer your stats as well, so they might already formulate a positive or negative impression based off that. I’d imagine successfully soliciting would be a good sign for your app in general.

Thank you! Would you think its best to ask now or wait a few more days? I read some people got pt invites this morning
