Re: Columbia c/o 2021 Applicants Thread (2017-2018)
That seems to be accurate, there's a Hamilton/Butler wave today. Any idea when people accepted in this first wave start to hear back about scholarships?MonicaYoung_LOL wrote:It looks like those who get in in the first wave generally don't get named scholarships (e.g., Hamiltons and Butlers) but it's possible (likely, even?) that they'll get some $$. Hamiltons & Butlers came in emails last year in the following wave(s).naguib wrote:So will those who got in today get scholarship info in a couple of weeks or will it just be people in the next couple of waves?MonicaYoung_LOL wrote:Based on last year's thread, it looks like the first wave of folks didn't include scholarship info, then the next two waves (which were the following days I believe, but not sure how that'll shape up with the delay this year) included scholarships.TheMule wrote:Should we expect all emails to come out at once or will they come in waves?
EDIT: If you don't hear tomorrow and are worried re: Hamilton & Butlers, don't be! They can come in a series of waves (not just the second one!), and that's happened for at least the past two years.
And again, CONGRATULATIONS to all those who were accepted today!!! It is an amazing accomplishment, and you should all be extraordinarily proud!

Anyone know the deal on public interest scholarships? How many? When do they get awarded? I think last year someone reported getting one a week after admits started.

CONGRATS to everyone who got hammies!!!!! Not too disappointed considering today seemed an exclusively hammy wave and the hard cut for hammies seems to be 176 or 175 in general

2nd wave last year (this one) was only Hamilton’s and butlers. The 3rd wave was a mix of scholarships and no scholarships.

Re: Columbia c/o 2021 Applicants Thread (2017-2018)
Anyone know if anyone has ever been able to negotiate their way into a Butler/Hammy (or comparable amount)? After going through LSN I've seen people were able to do so for Chicago's Ruby scholarships, but Columbia doesn't seem as flexible with their $$$.rideagain wrote:Sorry man I get the feelings. About how many Hamiltons/Butlers are there each year? (I only ask out of curiosity as I'm nowhere near the numbers for either)

Also curious about how many they give out! 3.8x and 175, interviewed, no Hammy (yet?)
What would you guys chance me at?

Hammy seems to need 175+ but you look to have solid Butler numbers.ArthurTimothyRead wrote:Also curious about how many they give out! 3.8x and 175, interviewed, no Hammy (yet?)

You'll probably get a Butler.ArthurTimothyRead wrote:Also curious about how many they give out! 3.8x and 175, interviewed, no Hammy (yet?)

Anyone care to speculate on 4/173/KJD/interview butler chances? I know hammy is out of the question but this cycle seems especially.tough for kjds so Im starting to think I'll be lucky to get any money at all (if I get in)

Accepted with Hamilton out of the blue.
174/top 10% at HYP. No hooks at all; have been working for about four years.
Was not expecting an acceptance, and certainly not a Hamilton since I thought it basically required 176+ and I never interviewed.
