Applied early Sept and interviewed mid Sept. How soon should I expect to hear back?

Thank you both! I will have time to sit in on a class and do a tour. I just need to call admissions ahead of time, right?jellyjar wrote:I also did one, and I second doing the tour (and would have done a class if I had time). I interviewed with an assistant admissions person, and it wasn't great. Very one sided, didn't feel like a conversation at all. Questions I can remember:Olive Juice wrote:Yes! I interviewed with a student, it was great. I think it's also possible to have it with an admissions person. I highly recommend doing the tour and sitting in on a class too, while you're there, if the schedule works with your interview time! That gave me a great feel for the school.Walliums wrote:Has anyone done the on-campus interview? Mine is next week!
The interviewer had a pretty long list of questions to draw from, and seemed to be picking and choosing based on my resume. The expected stuff (Why NU, why law) and some job-interviewy type questions ("tell me about a time you've handled conflict at work"). Nothing too out of left field, and very friendly.
- Why law?
- Why NU?
- Tell me about yourself (how do you spend your time, etc.)
- Favorite and least favorite classes (I'm K-JD, so that might be for people still in undergrad)
- A time you were on a team
- A time you were on a team and it didn't go well (I thought it was odd that she made these two completely separate questions, but whatever)
- Are you organized?
- What's your biggest weakness?
- What is something you'd like the committee to know that isn't completely apparent on your application?
Hope that helps! The school is gorge, Chicago is very cool (visiting was my first time in the city), and the students seem really nice and collegial.

Not for the tour/class, you can just show up.Walliums wrote:Thank you both! I will have time to sit in on a class and do a tour. Yup, and they have schedules for both posted online. I think the tours are just noon on Mondays and Fridays, but I could be misremembering. There's a variety of classes to choose from all week long.

Just did my online interview - I don't think many of my responses were recorded in full...such a bummer...this online format is very challenging

What’s stronger: 168V/165Q on the GRE or 169 on the LSAT? Or pick both?

169 LSAT is 97th percentile, idk what the percentile is for those GREs, but that's how I would compare them.jakebrigance11 wrote:What’s stronger: 168V/165Q on the GRE or 169 on the LSAT? Or pick both?

Re: Northwestern c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018 cycle)
Unfortunately I don't think the GRE releases percentile segments for combined scores... Meaning that 165Q is 89th percentile, but who knows how many 165Q make it to 168V? That's why making comparisons is actually pretty impossible and until we will have a benchmark (i.e. next year applicant looking at this year class profiles) it's all a guessing game.gmenold wrote:169 LSAT is 97th percentile, idk what the percentile is for those GREs, but that's how I would compare them.jakebrigance11 wrote:What’s stronger: 168V/165Q on the GRE or 169 on the LSAT? OP, I really don't know how to how to help you but translating your score in the same "language". You have:
LSAT: 96,67%
GRE: 89% Q / 98% V
Until we don't know if the two GRE scores are weighted the same, I vote for the LSAT.

Had my interview over a week ago. My status checker still says incomplete. Should I email an admissions?

I would. Maybe your interviewer forgot to notify them? I went complete about 3 days after my alumni interview.kimi14118 wrote:Had my interview over a week ago. My status checker still says incomplete. Should I email an admissions?

Mine took 2-3 weeks. I might not worry about it unless you are ED and need to be complete by Wednesday.Bush v. Gorgeous wrote:I would. Maybe your interviewer forgot to notify them? Did my online interview over 3 weeks ago, still incomplete. Also sent an email a week and a half ago, still no response, probably going to call next week if there still isn't any change, but I think they're just swamped.rowdy wrote:Mine took 2-3 weeks. Are you ED? It might be that they are prioritizing completing those apps, b/c I did my online interview 2 days ago, and everything showed complete today.PostNihilist wrote:Did my online interview over 3 weeks ago, still incomplete. I'll wait another week then email them. If it took others to update even though on the status checker it says 3-5 days.Bush v. Gorgeous wrote:RD here too. Ok so does "Your application is now complete and is being reviewed by the Admissions Committee" mean that I'm under review? Maybe it's a dumb question...

Had an off-campus interview today. Guy was super nice, didn't ask me any of those list questions posted here earlier. Was pretty laid back, talked about the experiences on my resume and mostly chit-chatted, but about substantive stuff. I'm KJD with 3.74/168 so nothing's a slam dunk for me, hoping this helps me out.

I did my on-campus interview today and toured and sat in on a class. I’m in love. Everyone was SO nice. Facilities are awesome, profs are awesome. In my interview I was pretty close to just begging them to let me in. If I don’t get in I will be so devastated. I hope they liked me :’(
