I doubt there are more than one or two GULC to Yale transfers every year. We have exactly the same stats as well as the same avatar. I likely will.What I was trying to say is that this is pretty irrelevant because that one person in both years was almost certainly the top 1-3 students in the class. My point was that not all top 1-3 students in each law school get to transfer to Yale Law School given its tiny volume. It varies based on the applicant but I did a mix of a) dropping in admissions during admitted students weekend to make my interest known (note that ASW is basically the only time I'd recommend showing up without an appointment); b) following up with specifics as to why I wanted GULC/DC (academic programs, professors, and personal reasons for wanting to stay in DC - it shows that if they offer you something you're likely to attend rather than using their offer to get money elsewhere and also shows what you plan on contributing to the campus environment); and c) making known the other offers from peer/higher ranked schools and even what waitlists you're on and willing to hold out for if you don't have a good scholarship offer.InterLaw wrote:Great job!!dc_diva wrote:GULC was always my top choice and I was super concerned that they'd be stingy...the best advice I can give is to be persistent and deliberate in how you negotiate. So, for someone without any experience, negotiating a scholarship means just sending e-mails and answers to other e-mails asking for more money to attend?
