I was planning to apply around Nov-Dec, when my app will be perfect, but I will actually apply as soon as the first one here will post his admission, with an incomplete application, rushing the personal statement and forgetting the addenda I prepared carefully in advance.

Just FYI, GULC is "convening an ad hoc Size of 1L Sections Committee this year. The Committee's charge is essentially to determine whether or not decreasing the size of 1L sections is 1) possible and 2) advisable." No word on when any changes might become effective.

So that's how they're going to move back up in the rankings. Welp there goes any chance I had probably.

I actually love this. Only I worry I would be too wacky and it would get awkward real fast.

"Top 10 foods that reflect my personality."
"Top 10 Sci-fi/Fantasy characters I relate to."
"Top 10 places to scratch on a dog." (Spoiler: numbers 4-7 are all behind the ears.)
I wrote mine about top 10 presidents, with Donald Trump being #1. And before any snowflakes get their liberal panties in a bunch, just remember that Tiffany Trump is a current 1L at Georgetown.

Lolol. But actually, I hope this is a joke. Also, Tiffany is the president's daughter so I'm sure that had something to do with her admission

Really hope you didn't do this, just for the fact that there is no way on earth you can fully evaluate a President after less than one year. Heck, I don't think you can even justifiably include Bush or Obama on a top 10 worst/best list just because we haven't had enough time to evaluate their Presidencies. Plus Trump being an absolute moron doesn't help your case. -A Conservative, non snowflake

Sad to see my very serious "top 10 best dril Tweets" essay might have been topped.

Kind of bummed to see that 'page 130 of your autobiography' (or whatever it was) optional response gone.

So probably a stupid question - do you write a Why Georgetown essay on TOP of your PS and optional response?

161/3.59, white, male, veteran

I applied ED for the PT program. I am currently a staffer on the hill and would love to go to GULC. Between applying ED and PT, is there any hope in this world I can get admitted?

I appreciate any and all advice!

Your chances aren't great for PT and ED doesn't actually give a boost. If you really want GULC and are willing to do PT while working on the hill, you should probably retake.

seriously tho, is there any TLS wisdom about whether one should write a lighthearted optional essay? i'm approaching this as if it were a supplemental essay on an undergrad app, where the point is to show off your writing ability and take a risk while still incorporating some 'why x' points. is that more or less the right idea?

My "optional" selection was the top 10 list. I wrote about horror movies. Cmon guys, these adcomms are people too- lets not overthink this. They get plenty of spastic pre-law people freaking out over the tiniest things, they just want to see you're a normal human being.

I am definitely looking long and hard at a re-take right about now. I am insanely happy with where I am working now, so if I have to give it some time, I do not mind. Question: why do you think ED does not give a boost? I have read and heard otherwise. Not getting at all defensive! Simply curious :)

As am I...can't remember if I was ever "complete" though...
For clarity sake, is the "d" actually capitalized on your profile, or are you just signifying that a "d" was added?
