I did. No harm in being honest and I'm not the first applicant they've ever had who blanketed the T13
Could be wrong but if anything, it might inxrease your chances at $$$ if you have HYS numbers and let Chicago know you're applying to those schools

Just went complete. Although I know they don't start announcing decisions until like November or so.

Hadn't thought about it that way (not that I have HYS numbers  )

Checking in! Also, what is their "infamous" policy towards internationals?

Checking in! Feeling like this is a big reach for me - don't think my LSAT went well so think I'll be a splitter (GPA 3.95). Do splitters ever get cash? Doubtful...

Hadn't thought about UChicago much until researching to apply (since I've never been to the city) but now I'm really into it. Super reach for me, though.

I'm checking out. After some strategy planning I decided not to apply to Chicago (not an easy decision) due to some policy they have about international students.

I just wanted to wish you all good luck, I really hope you all get into UChicago - so that I can have less competition anywhere else!

Bye!
What was the policy? I was planning to apply to UChicago as well.

They require the TOEFL with 106 overall and 26 in each section. I fall short in one section (I didn't prepare that test, c'mon...) and there is no way I'm gonna spend 250$ + 115$ (app fee) for a school in which I have average chances and it's not in my t10!

Oh. Well that sucks. You'd think your PS and LSAT score would do enough already in showing proficiency.

Ohhh really? 26 at least for every toefl section? Just got 26 on my writing... where did you find that requirement? I thought 104 or something would be enough.

Just submitted with ED. Does anyone know whether they offer interviews for ED applicants? :?

Well if you have a 26 in writing as your lowest section you're golden!

Hey guys,

I was wondering if not filling in some of the optional sections, like Law School Interest or Academic Interest, will affect my admission chances.

Thanks!

It certainly doesn't help, but it probably doesn't make that big of a difference unless you are a borderline applicant (even then, probably not enough to lead to a ding).
On that thought, why should I give them a reason to put my app in a bad light. Thanks.

So is Nick Offerman!
Haha, point. And he went to the U of I! I just realized that Ron Swanson would probably like UChicago out of the major schools as it's the most libertarian-leaning.

They also don't believe in "Safe-spaces". Very Ron Swansonesque
Yup. Their free speech policy definitely stands out.
