Checking in! My GPA is well below the 25th percentile so I doubt this is going to happen. But-- we'll see how this goes!

Ladies and gents it looks like we picked an abysmal time to apply to law school.

Checking in! GPA between 25th and 50th and LSAT at 75th. Job kept me out of the loop for a good part of October and November. Submitted this past week... is that considered late or just not early?

@mrsharveyspecter

Good article from Mike Spivey concerning the bump in apps especially at the 165+ range. This cycle will certainly be more competitive for sure, but his belief is that it will trend more towards a "bit more competitive" vs. "substantially more competitive." Also, given that everyone in this forum has presumably impressive numbers and is engaged, it should turn out well for all of us!

I submitted in the beginning of November and have been UR1 since 11/20. Since then radio silence. That doesn't mean anything right? It's early? Sigh

I totally wouldn't worry! They're probably going to send out ED decisions soon, and might just be busy with that. Remember, their app deadline was like March last I checked, so it's still very, very early.

Me too! I fear it's not a good sign for me though because I haven't interviewed.

I haven't interviewed either! I wonder if any ED applicants have.

Oops! I meant UR3. Interviewed on Dec. 4, but I wouldn't worry if you didn't interview: from what I've seen, interviews principally matter for liminal cases (like, borderline admit/waitlist or $/no $). Also maybe for ED applicants to gauge genuine interest?

"$/no $" as in determining whether to give a full-ride scholarship? Or would that apply to smaller 30k-75k dollar grants as well?

I'm a current UChicago grad student and I applied ED. Went under R3 today and have not received an invitation to interview.

in past years, UR4 hinted that a decision was approaching...does this mean we likely won't hear this week?

If you look at LSN, decisions have come the week before Christmas for ED applicants the past 3 cycles. My guess would be this week based on that.

Wait, really??? I thought it was like JS1s and interviews are a necessary prerequisite to an acceptance? I think I asked this before here (not sure if this or Columbia) and I don't think I got a response lol

What AlmostSplitter wrote sounds like Columbia. From what I remember interviews are a prerequisite for Chicago.
