Yeah, what the hell. I was so glad that I'm above both 75ths and I'd be thrilled to attend, even at full cost. To be honest, I've kind of been counting on getting into Chicago. I'd be devastated if they rejected me. But I haven't even received an interview request (late Nov app) so maybe I should adjust my expectations.usaorbust wrote:+1LawSSS wrote:All these waitlists with great numbers...and now im 10000% more nervous for my interview.

Am I right in assuming that the interview is necessary for admission? I'm <25th GPA but >75th LSAT, avoided waitlisting or rejecting during the recent waves, but still haven't heard anything about an interview (applied mid to late October). Should this worry me at all?

Slightly lower LSAT score, but the exact same thing happened to me (kjd). This was my first news back. I don't think uchi yield protects, but here's to hoping.TastyMango wrote:I am KJD. K-JD here who was admitted. LSAT > 75th, GPA = 75th. Don't worry too much about it--it's a little mechanical (i.e., the interviewer kind of just reads questions off a paper in a methodical way), but my interviewer was very sweet and clearly dedicated to UChicago. You'll be more than fine!! Just be yourself We're rooting for you!!Timofey_Pnin wrote:As a K-JD with an interview coming up I am trying not to panic a bit right now. WOW... I didn't think UChicago would yield protect but I can't think of another reason why they would waitlist you...doji33 wrote:176/4.00/not KJD with a Yale acceptance and a Harvard JS2 under my belt. Is it possible these aren’t YPs but perhaps a misalignment with the culture fit Chicago is looking for? I guess I just don’t know why they would bother yield protecting folks they chose to interview.
Also it really sounds like they grab a lot of people off the WL so don’t fret?

Another waitlist. I'm floored. 4.0/173/Why Chicago/interview. K-JD like many of the others. Glad to hear I'm not alone but this was my top choice. Gunner bloodbath right here...

Any non-URM K-JDs got accepted today? Does UChi hate K-JDs that much..?

girl you're in with that LOCI. don't fret! i have a friend at chicago who i spoke to today after being waitlisted (was a little upset because chicago wasn't really originally on my radar but i liked my interviewer and looked into it more after my interview) and he said this happened to some people in his class. one even has a full ride and another has a significant scholarship. you've got this!dm1683 wrote:Another waitlist. Non-URM and K-JD, I was accepted. Thrilled, of course, but really floored at all y'all with better/equivalent stats (mine are 176 and 4.0) who got WL'd. I wonder if this has to do with what Spivey was saying in his blog post about "why law" being a bigger factor for K-JD's this cycle? I spent a LOT of energy on that question across PS and interview (not to say you guys didn't)supermanloi wrote:Any non-URM K-JDs got accepted today? Does UChi hate K-JDs that much..?

lol don't mean to burst your bubble, but I was accepted with a personal statement about criminal justice reform and attacking systemic transphobia, racism, and ableism. I also spent most of my interview talking about social justice & liberal reform. Totally understand your frustration, just don't know if that's a fair deduction...dm1683 wrote:straight, conservative cis peoplesupermanloi wrote:Do we know what kind of culture fit Chicago is looking for?
