Status checker isn't working for me...did my 10,000th refresh break UVA?

A couple of my status checkers aren't working right now

I think it's because LSAC's actual website is down

Went Under Review today! It's a real reach so fingers crossed that I either get dinged early and don't have to worry, or that the worry pays off and by the grace of God I sneak into Class of 2021

Forgive my ignorance, but how do you know if you're UR1 or UR2? My status checker says "application under review"

You have to pay attention to the date under that. When the date changes, that’s UR2.

I went also went UR1 on 10/16 and then my date changed on 10/17 which I guess counts. But I’m not expecting to get into UVA so it’s ok.

I went UR1 on 10/30... none of this makes sense. I'm going to try to just not look at it until around Thanksgiving

I went complete late September, went UR 1/2/3 and then finally got an interview (substitute) invite last week. Don’t give up hope!

I saw on their FAQs or app somewhere that Virginia residents get a slight preference. Is this true? Need any boost I can get

Wondering if the events in Charlottesville this August are affecting applicant numbers. UVA's business school saw a decline in applicants because of it, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a dip in law applicants as well.

Would definitely be interesting. Personally I think it would be really unfair to rule out UVA for that reason, because those were NOT Cville natives. There was one picture of UVA students counterprotesting, and they were completely surrounded by torches. That picture stuck with me more than the rest.
Disclaimer though, I've been a blue dot in a deep red state all my life so the whole thing was less surprising to me than people who haven't seen racism up close before.

I don't think anyone here knows for sure whether UVA's UR distinctions have any real meaning. I don't think it's a for sure bad sign.

Yeah, my friends at UVA undergrad are very disappointed by the coverage and reputation the city will have to deal with for a while. Unfair that a great college town has to be associated with a controversy that doesn't reflect on them at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if apps decreased for all their schools this year

I DEFINITELY get the vibe that people there are concerned about negative impressions. I was saying to a UVA alum that I wasn't sure if it would be a good fit for my family because of the location (I meant that it's a small-ish town), and the person kind of jumped down my throat, assuming I was referring to the demonstration (or whatever you want to call it). I would be super lucky and happy to get into UVA, so like you guys I hope recent events don't dissuade people - it's a great school. People who went there love it.
