Did the offer come with your hard copy acceptance letter or was it separate?rachelac wrote:Thank you!!principalagent wrote:Actual goals. Money moves, if you will. I'm probably being neurotic, but is it at all meaningful that I seem to be one of very few people who hasn't heard a peep from UVA even though my application was in 2 weeks ago?
Is anyone else still waiting?

Past threads have shown a mix of short and long waits for early applicants. Many people who had to wait last year eventually got in.andysimbi wrote:I'm probably being neurotic, but is it at all meaningful that I seem to be one of very few people who hasn't heard a peep from UVA even though my application was in 2 weeks ago?

It's too simple to say you're being neurotic, but it's also not something to worry about directly. The admissions team is acutely aware of the flow of applications and when they will hit their peak, so they are mostly at the point where they're being cautious about acceptances. If you haven't heard anything, it might be that they've been busy with early ED applications (seriously, this takes a ton of their time early in the process), and it might be that they are still on the fence with your application. It doesn't mean you're getting rejected. It just means that they know they're going to get a huge influx of applications in the November/December/January timeframe, so they might be waiting on a decision on your specific file until they know how the class is shaping up.GotLost wrote:I submitted on the fifth and I'm still waiting.andysimbi wrote:I'm probably being neurotic, but is it at all meaningful that I seem to be one of very few people who hasn't heard a peep from UVA even though my application was in 2 weeks ago?

Admissions is sensitive to yield and handling the incoming class carefully. If you haven't heard anything, just accept it. I know there is an immediacy to wanting to have acceptances, but when you're talking about schools that have some freedom to be selective, they can wait to decide on your individual application. It's natural supply and demand economics at play and you have to accept it.
That said, good luck to everyone and if you have specific questions, please feel free to bring it my way!

What does UR2 mean in practice? I mean what is the difference between UR1 and UR2?principalagent wrote:Same here. Went from submitted to under review in a couple hours. Then quickly to UR 2. No clue what it means on the adcom side. From our view, it just means the status date changed.InterLaw wrote:What does UR2 mean in practice? I mean what is the difference between UR1 and UR2?

People are talking about writing why UVAs but I don't really even see the option of one. Am I missing something? Should I just upload it as "optional addenda?"

Yesterday I got an email from Dean Faulk to schedule a Skype interview, which was set up for 11am this morning...... just got off the call and was offered admission and a Dillard on the spot!! Unbelievably jazzed. This was my first admissions decision of the cycle, so it's amazing to have such an amazing option on the table. Went to UVA undergrad and can vouch for all the hype over Charlottesville and the rest of the University.
