UR2. I'm probably about to register for Feb. Will that make them hold me or will they go ahead and render a decision and reevaluate if I improve?

For what it's worth, I was UR1 for 1.5 months before going UR2 earlier this month and getting admitted the next day - so I wouldn't read too much (negatively) into how long you stay at UR1.mwells56 wrote:Looks like I missed the UR wave, still UR1 since 11/13
I'm more worried that schools are waiting on me to see my fall grades, which were absolute ass lol.chrysippusofsoli wrote:For what it's worth, I was UR1 for 1.5 months before going UR2 earlier this month and getting admitted the next day - so I wouldn't read too much (negatively) into how long you stay at UR1.mwells56 wrote:Looks like I missed the UR wave, still UR1 since 11/13
They ain’t gonna know if you don’t tell em.Jack_Kelly wrote:UR2. I'm probably about to register for Feb. Will that make them hold me or will they go ahead and render a decision and reevaluate if I improve?
Yes they will once he registers.KylawRen wrote:They ain’t gonna know if you don’t tell em.Jack_Kelly wrote:UR2. I'm probably about to register for Feb. Will that make them hold me or will they go ahead and render a decision and reevaluate if I improve?
Not sure how they would know. The info isn’t on the cas report and even if it was, which it isn’t, they wouldn’t update schools upon registration like they do with a new score. They can see when you register for an upcoming test.KylawRen wrote:Not sure how they would know. They definitely do know. Stanford and Berkeley held my application due to the December LSAT which I didn't include on my application because I wasn't sure I was going to actually take it and didn't want them to do just that.KylawRen wrote:Not sure how they would know. And to answer the question of "how" -- have you seen the movie Santa Claus is Coming to Town? You know the magic crystal snowballs that let Santa see whether kids are being naughty or nice? That's how.JamesBlahDeBlah wrote:They definitely do know. However, in this case their FAQ states you must take by December 2017 if you want to be considered for admission, so I doubt they'd hold for February. If you want to be 100% sure, just email and tell them not hold.
I was actually wondering about this - how can you distinguish between UR1 and UR2?mwells56 wrote:Looks like I missed the UR wave, still UR1 since 11/13

Wow that's awesome, congrats! I'm surprised there's any movement today. Hopefully that means there will be more UR2's for all those stuck at UR1 since 11/13Cogburn1984 wrote:Went UR2 as of this morning. UR1 11/13.
I'm pretty surprised as well. Props to the tireless NYU adcomms.TLS wrote:Wow that's awesome, congrats! I'm surprised there's any movement today. Hopefully that means there will be more UR2's for all those stuck at UR1 since 11/13Cogburn1984 wrote:Went UR2 as of this morning. UR1 11/13.

Not to be a downer because we truly have no idea what adcoms are really up to, but I did some digging and it seems that last year people were going UR2 throughout the holidays, but there was no new DLS until Tuesday, January 10th.RSolano wrote:alexeats wrote:One can only hope.
