I'm not always that negative, but I honestly think that in my case that e-mail was ominous of a WL, even tho my cycle so far has overperformed the expectations... But you know, many schools still didn't start to ding!
However, NYU+AnBryce is probably my dream outcome at this point, so I still didn't give up with the hope...

Is there someone else who applied for the named scholarships pretty early (before November) and DID NOT get the email about being still under review earlier this month?

Not quite. I applied AnBryce Mid-November. Splitter. Did not receive the dreaded email. Went DLS on Tuesday and can log into ASW. No call yet, which I guess happens. But still makes me nervous. Probably reading too much into everything, but it would not surprise me if I was good enough to get in but not good enough to compete for AnBryce, hence the relatively accelerated timeline. Been lurking for a few months, figured it was finally time to register. I actually never got an email that said "app complete" but the status checker says "under review." Hoping that means it's actually complete. But what does "UR2" mean? Trying to get used to the lingo on here.

Under Review 2 - the description might not change but when the date does that's a step forward

Ha! I don't know what the deal is. I submitted my Harvard and Columbia apps about a month and a half after submitting my NYU app and was offered interviews at both, but all I have from NYU is this darn email.

I really don't think the email is indicative of anything, be it good/bad. Is there a consensus on this?

I think people who received the email will have to wait longer for decisions, but that the email doesn't signal anything one way or another about what that decision will be.

i don’t think it’s really indicative of anything either, based off the stats of the people that got the email that I’m seeing on reddit and here, although that could just be wishful thinking

UR1 since 10/30... feeling really down about this. Is anyone else in the same boat? Is this a kiss of death?

Nope. Last year I was UR 2 10/31 and didn’t have any updates until the last week of April when I was waitlisted. Then I got in two weeks later. They also return to some earlier applicants as the season progresses. Just be prepared to wait a long long time

Thank you for that! It's definitely a relief to know that I'm not necessarily out of it yet! I'll try to hold tight and stay patient

I'm UR1 (but only since last week) and didn't get the email, but if it helps, last year my girlfriend got the email last year, then got waitlisted, and then was accepted literally 1 week after she got waitlisted. Not sure if that qualifies as "reassuring" but at least it lead to an eventual, if still agonizing, acceptance, right?

Sad I got the email I’m terrible at waiting. Here it is if anyone wants to see it. 3.98 GPA, 160 LSAT, top 10 public, URM, lots of leadership and political experience, former SEC scholarship athlete. Any guesses still on what the email means? My stats aren’t great but I feel like people with very good stats are getting them. Also like is still waiting like 2 more weeks or like 3 months?

I've been UR1 since the third week of November and am over one 75th and over the other 50th. Should I be concerned? I feel like I've seen a lot of people with lower scores and similar completion dates get accepted or at least UR2 by now.
